Not the first time Moretti has turned in a **** scorecard. Him and Weisfeld need to be replaced.

Yeah that’s true, however it’s 4 pounds we are talking about and I don’t know much about lopez to say he struggles making 26, but if he made it comfortably 4 pounds wouldn’t be as bad as say... 2 pounds when you have to do the extreme to get rid of those last couple of pounds. The boy did good like I said in defeat his stock rose.. everyone was a winner except for the ref, I think Valdez was going to get to him in the next 3 rounds anyway... but it’s history now, we have a great fight looming with Valdez and Berchelt and lopez will still be relevant and have shots to keep building his career

And you can’t say he got screwed when 2 of the 3 judges had valdez up and he would of been up on the 3rd judge with the knockdown and the momentum was definitely changing in Valdez’s favor.... he was going to win by stoppage or decision if it weren’t for the ref anyway... and if that would of happened, would we still be saying lopez stock went up? Like we are now??? Who knows, that stoppage was best case for both fighters in my opinion

I prefer Don P. or even Ace of spades

Russell Mora hits the panic button all the time, and does other moronic b.s. as ref. He, Laurence Cole, Bayless and a few others just need to get OUT of the sport FNO. And 2 judges here need replacing.

As for Valdez... one thing for certain, he's worse now than he was even a couple years ago. Massive holes in the defense won't fare well as the competition increases. He's an accident waiting to happen. But hats off to Lopez. He definitely done himself proud. Hope he gets some good fights soon. He's worth it, indeed.

Valdez was losing the fight imo and has shown the ability to be outboxed for stretches..

I think Berchelt beats him easily..

                I judge Moretti's scorecard as "suspect brown envelope / 10 "

I hope a "Judging the Judges" column becomes a regular feature on BoxingScene.

But I bet promoters would exert pressure for it not to become a regular feature.

Dave Moretti looks suspect based on that scorecard.

Yeah good points...I wish there was a way to really try and prevent these bad cards, as fans...not sure what it is though.
