Sure, if you don't follow the ladies sport or whatever, or think it's some kinda freakshow like some of the idiots on here then fair enough, no-ones making you watch that ish, but anyone who's head and shoulders above their rivals for so long in any field of endeavour deserves some recognition in my book.
    Exactly this.

There's a reason it's been since 1948 that someone had this many title defenses.

Between all weight classes, both genders, Lineal/Ring/WBA/IBF/WBC/WBO/IBO champions, nobody but Braekhus and Louis have gotten to 25 consecutive defenses.

If it were an easy accomplishment someone else would have done it by now.

To give Braekhus her due credit isn't to equate her to Joe Louis, and to point out that she isn't Joe Louis doesn't diminish her accomplishment.

Only good thing about the fight was the gorgeous referee.

No it doesn’t contextualize anything. It’s basically a lie. It’s insane to mention them in the same breath because he was heavyweight champion and she’s a female boxer.

          It’s a different sport.

My middle school basketball team won six titles in eight years, the first basketball team to do that since Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls.

That’s an insane statement, just like the one made comparing Braekhus’ achievements to Joe Louis’.

Heavyweight men fight other heavyweight men.

Welterweight women fight other welterweight women.

And again, nobody else has done this. No other women, nobody in the lower weight classes. Not even someone who snagged a WBO belt before it was recognized or an IBO belt and held onto it without taking any real challenges. Not even the biggest cherry picking euro level fighter you can come up with

Nobody. Nobody in history but Louis and Braekhus.

That's a massive accomplishment. It doesn't make her as good as Joe Louis and nobody is saying it does. But she just accomplished something nobody else has since 1948.

Not only did Braekhus defend her 2 major belts 25 times, but along the way she picked up the other 2 major belts, the IBO, and the Ring Magazine Pound for Pound belt.

                Boxing is boxing.

Women fight women, men fight men.

Featherweights fight featherweights, heavyweights fight heavyweights.

Only two basketball teams in history have won six championships in an eight year span. The Chicago Bulls and my grade school basketball team. It’s a major accomplishment by those 12 year olds. Let’s mention them in the same breath as Michael Jordan.

Wait, how is that when middle school is only 3 years?
