Okay now i was watching the ali vs wepner fight and i began wondering how it was that a fighter who probably would have never been rememberd had he not fought ali could some how beat him. Most people think that this was a huge huge acomplashment for wepner. Wich it was but did he reaaly do anhything that difficult? I mean ill give the guy his credit he did beat the greatest. But at the time the greatest was at his worst. He was well past his prime, He had just had a fight with george foreman where he took hundreds of direct body shots from one the hardest hitters in history ,I suspect parkinsons disease had allready began to efffect his legs, and he may not have been focused. I mean he had just been presented a verry verry speacial award just before the fight started. This must have had an effect on his consantration at least in the first couple rounds. And also he was clearly mad. I mean after wepner kept hitting ali in the back of the head ali went of and bent the guy over and threw several shots to the back of the head. When the ref finaly seperated them ali attempted to go after him again but the rf blocked him. When he finaly stoped and the ref completly seperated them you could plainly see from alis posture that he was mad. So i mean if all of these factors hadnt come togeather i dont think wepner would have stood a chance. Any body agree.
