Comments Thread For: Benavidez Confident of Beating Smith, Plant - Wants Canelo Too

A proud world champion once again, two-time WBC Super Middleweight Titleholder David "El Bandera Roja/Red Flag" Benavidez says he's a stronger, wiser version of himself and has his sights set on the division's other big names. Benavidez (22-0, 19 KOs), from Phoenix, says he watched WBA Champion Callum Smith's recent defense against fellow UK scrapper John Ryder and is licking his lips at the thought of facing his counterpart.

Benavidez would maul Smith like a junkyard dog and Plant would easily outbox Canelo in a textbook uneventful match therefore neither fight will happen.

Benavidez steamrolls everybody at 168. Plant is a very good boxer & possibly his biggest threat, but Uzcategui had him backpedaling almost the whole fight & was getting to him late. Benavidez will have him running for his life until he eventually catches up to him. Canelo definitely ain't coming near this dude. Boy is a special talent.

When the dust settles Benavidez is going to be the last man standing.
          The kid is bada$$!

Still have to see a bit more of Plant to determine if he can upset Benavidez.

So that's why WBC/PBC did everything to deny Smith's request to challenge Benavidez as diamond belt holder. First, last year in Ukraine, again this year in Cancun. These mfers are like Trump, doing exactly the opposite as they talk.

              EASY WORK!

Line Them All Up At 168! People who like to go back and forth do so to try and convince themselves, I would much rather see the fights instead of assuming what would happen. My Money is on Benavidez 1000% to Unify 168 as long as Callum and BJS will be WILLING to fight him. The Plant fight is INEVITABLE that is likely happening 2020 but not so sure about Callum and BJS. Network not a issue I'm sure Sampson Lewkowicz and Haymon will gladly let him go over to DAZN for a unification fight and a massive Payday because people are going to start using the Network Excuses not to make Benavidez vs Callum or BJS

I agree he is a badass I think he’s the best at 168. He’d mop the floor with Canelo

I would pick Plant to win over Benavidez.
