If I was a middleweight champion in the late 80's and early 90's, the fighters I wouldn't want anything to do with would be Michael Nunn, Herol Graham, and most of all Chris Eubank. I'm trying to put myself in that position right now, I honestly don't know how I'd fight Eubank. He had such a strange style, made such strange moves, and would of frustrated the hell out of you. The way he'd step into a punch then leap back just out of range as soon as it landed must of gave his opponents fits, and the way he'd just dropped his hands by his sides and walk around the ring then suddenly spring a punch and shift away again. I just would not want to fight that guy, unless he had something I wanted.

I'd rather fight Eubank than fight Benn. With Eubank you just go to the body, he couldn't take much down there. Benn could punch and if you hurt him he fought back harder. -

Benn's the hardest hitter I've seen, I would NOT get in the ring with that man!Comment

Personally, I would've avoided Nigel Benn like a plague.Originally posted by PitbullpowerIf I was a middleweight champion in the late 80's or early 90's, the fighters I wouldn't want anything to do with would be Michael Nunn, Herol Graham, and most of all Chris Eubank. Eubank’s boxing after-life is something of a curiosity. In the ring, he was a spell-binder, there surely has never been a boxer quite like him, apart from, maybe Cassius Clay in his early pre Mohammed Ali days. His boxing style was bizarre. No defense, arms by his side, weaving from the waist up, verbally taunting his opponents. Sometimes he refused to take his stool between rounds. But when he hit someone, they stayed hit.

Jackson's skills were quite under-rated - he was an accurate puncher, but Benn had more natural talent and more tools. Whenever Benn backed off to the ropes and potshotted it worked every time, he could bob about on the ropes and make a man miss every single punch of a combinaton, and he had an absolutely lovely left jab when he had the discipline to use it. He could weave without being taught, his technique was generally good- kept his chin low, head forward. Benn was more polished, more gifted, good athlete. His problem was that he lacked concentration and just wanted to have a 'tear-up'.Comment

yeah that's what i was asking ...you would think that they both would be looking out for the others power so I think they would try to box more in the first half and open up late ..Jackson had some hand speed but Benn might have had a little more 1 punch power really didnt see much of them so i don't know ..Originally posted by PitbullpowerNeither were pure boxers.
