Al gave him two undeserved title shots for the "WBC crown". It can't get better than that. He has never been in a WBC final eliminator bout; his two shots were via voluntary. Even when his final eliminator with Whyte didn't go through (possibly due to Whyte), the WBC didn't get him a replacement fighter for the F-eliminator as it ought to be. Why? Well, your guess is as good as mine. The same reason why Fury has been made a mandatory to Wilder out of nowhere, a guy who publicly turned down an F-eliminator against Whyte. The WBC is a big joke.

Ortiz is a fighter I like. I started rooting for him after the Jennings fight. When the BP story came out, I felt sorry for him and withdrew much of my earlier confidence. But honestly, I think he is now a PBC pawn. The way "he" turned down the AJ fight gave him away, if nothing else did.

There is no excuse whatsoever why he can't at least get some decent in-house fights. Kownacki? Ruiz, if he loses next month? Martins?

- Joshua knocked the F out by an 8 seed. Looks and sounds psychologically damaged with every new interview.

Stop changing the goalpost. The contention is that nobody gets credit for fighting old men. The fact is that was proven wrong with AJ. Now you're making some new argument. I won't let you get the chance to switch arguments and turn tables.

Luis Ortiz is active and knocked out Bryant, the guy Klitchsko had his most trouble with prior to the snoozefest with Fury.

I think they should have said "nobody gets credit for fighting an old guy who has 1 significant win in his professional career and that was 5 years ago" Yes that 1 win is Jennings and let's also remember that we need to add Sanders, Brewster and even Purity! The only difference is, Jennings didn't beat Klitchko, these guys did. However your point is valid, AJ got a lot of respect for the Klitchko win...but man that fight was brutal, he did not look 41.

We also seem to forget that Ortiz won no world titles as an amateur, he was never good enough to fight in the Olympics either. Even AJ had a better amateur career than Ortiz did and even if you exclude Olympic gold, AJ still achieved just as much as Ortiz did - in only 18 fights.

This guy is so overhyped its ridiculous. Now I think he's actually a decent fighter but jeez can we stop with the avoided thing. There are loads of back and fourths between fighters previously and especially with Whyte. I'm sure both fighters are adamant they didn't duck the other and given who Whyte went onto fight, I think it's fair to say he will take on all comers.

However that was back then, what we do know now is that hes 40 years old, has a limited following, has 1 major win (And who has Jennings actually beaten?) and has been knocked out twice in his last few fights. It doesn't bode well for the dude so i'm really glad he got a huge payout vs Wilder

Ortiz swerved his mandatory shot at AJ to fight Wilder instead. He has now ducked AJ to fight Wilder for less money twice in his career.

Much success to one of the greatest fighters of this generation Luis Ortiz. They are running out of places to duck.

We all know Eddie Hearn made up this sound byte to justify AJ and Dillian Whyte ducking King Kong Ortiz.

However the challenge is can they explain why age matters to them so much when that fighter is undefeated and at the top of the division. For Whyte, Ortiz was even ranked higher than him. Why wouldn't you want the old man?

However what is increasingly telling about the real reason for the sound byte is not just the ducks in a row, it is this... There are three UK fighters clearly ducking Ortiz. They are the same ones that keep the "King Kong is old," in their hip pocket Joshua, Whyte and Fury.

What isn't said enough is two of those fighter in Joshua and Fury made there HW name fighting Vladimir Klitschko. At the time Fury fought him he was 39. At the time Joshua fought him he was 41. Remarkably the same age as Luis Ortiz? Where is this new respect for older fighters coming from?

Matter fact Joshua and Fury have been fighting guys near or over 40 recently. Just recently Fury fought Sefer Seferi who wasn't even on his level. Well he was 40.

Joshua fought Povetkin and Takam and struggled. So whats special about 40 year old Ortiz? Is it that he was ranked #4 in the division and may be the best pure boxer in the Heavyweight division.

We all know whats up. Even the trolls with their fight prevention efforts. Give me old boxing where Moorer took on Foreman and got KTFO. Non of this wining and posturing we see today in order to keep the peoples hero's safe.

These guys need to fight Ortiz. Lets start with Whyte. He needs something to do as we wait on the B-Sample. Looks like it was shipped by Pony Express across the Atlantic.
