Fury at his best is untouchable.
After that, does it really matter?
Wilder is the most dangerous, but Ruiz KO'ing Joshua is the greatest achievement by anyone not named Fury.
Ortiz of last night probabaly would not have won a single round against Joshua, but I think he would have lasted longer before getting KO'd.Comment

1. Fury . Wilder has his belt.
2. AJ. No evidence one fight drops him really from number one.
3. Hrgovic . He doesn't have a belt but the man will be a menace when not if he comes into title shots.
4. Wilder . What a great knockout artist but how long will he stay when Fury defeats him again ?
5. Usyk . Only one fight in on official pro heavyweight record ,he'll quickly move up here unless he runs into AJ, who I don't think he gets by . Everyone else ? Very possible style wise .
6. Ruiz. Some respect has to be giving but I don't see he stays a top 5 /6 guy after December 7th.
7. Povetkin . Only lost to the top guys and no proof anyone will have an easy fight with him ,id put him over Ruiz but he has no belt.
8. Joyce. Still learning and most top guys suits him because they are big units not technical fighters ,I think hes a 50/50 with a wilder . A 6'6 260 pound punching machine that doesnt tire out at any point.
9. Whyte . All around is very good only loss to what I think will be the top guy again ,Joshua. On a 10 fight win streak since 2015. Who can stop him will be interesting now .
10.. Ortiz. Only Wilder has defeated him ,I think he can perform better if a guy isn't 6'7 tbf. Hes on his way out but I believe hes a high skilled but even unproven could be a threat at this rank.Last edited by REDEEMER; 11-24-2019, 05:49 PM.Comment

I have no problem with your list, you defend it well.1. Tyson Fury
I would pick him to get knocked out in the Wilder rematch but I thought he won the first fight big. He also beat Wladimir Klitschko when Klitschko was unbeatable.
2. Deontay Wilder
He has a (disputed) draw against the number one guy and knocked out the best technical boxer in the division (Luis Ortiz) twice.
3. Luis Ortiz
Has only lost one round in his entire career, the fifth round against Wilder in the first fight. He’s completely dominated the competition and I would expect him to beat everyone except Wilder in this division.
4. Andy Ruiz
Ruiz’s resume was thin and he wasn’t ranked by anyone earlier this year... but then he knocked out Anthony Joshua.
5. Anthony Joshua
Joshua has some very good wins in his career so far, like Dillian Whyte, Joseph Parker, Alexander Povetkin and Wladimir Klitschko. But he lost badly to Ruiz, who was unranked by everyone at the time.
6. Jarrell Miller
Many won’t rank him because of the steroids... I don’t care. He beat Gerald Washington way worse than Wilder did and beat Bogdan Dinu way worse than Kubrat Pulev did.
7. Dillian Whyte
Whyte’s lone loss was to Joshua and he has good wins over Oscar Rivas and Joseph Parker, although both were life and death type fights.
8. Kubrat Pulev
Pulev has been nothing but impressive since his lone loss to Wladimir Klitschko.
9. Joseph Parker
Parker looked bad in his loss to Joshua and went life and death in a loss to Whyte, but his (disputed) win over Ruiz looks great now.
10. Alexander Povetkin
Povetkin has only lost to Wladimir Klitschko and Anthony Joshua and has looked very good against everyone else.
1. WILDER
Personally, I have Wilder at number one as I think the draw was fair (IMHO) and he’s not moving from #1 on my list unless someone beats him VERY DECISIVELY (without taking multiple KDs), or else knocks him spark out. Of course, any decent technical boxer can make him look bad for long stretches, but he doesn’t care, he’s there for the knockout and that’s why I have no problem ranking him first in spite of his known weaknesses.
2. FURY (???)
I am inclined to have Fury at second, as I agree with you he toyed with a near-unbeatable Klitschko and if nothing else, he took Wilder into very deep waters; BUT, although many on NSB disagree with me, I really feel he has slipped a lot even after his comeback and will never fully reclaim his best from when he beat Klitschko in Germany. I think this is partly due to taking heavy damage against Wilder and then Wallin, so now I think either he’s exercising damage control and giving boxing a rest, or else something else is wrong and his head and/or heart just aren’t in it anymore. Only time will tell if he merits the #2 spot.
3. RUIZ
You make a fair point for Ortiz, but I am quite impressed with Ruiz’ performance against Joshua and he will be my #3 unless he fades badly in the rematch. I think he’s got fast hands and a great chin - he has as good a chance as anyone against Wilder’s right hand IMO, and he could give Wilder trouble with those quick left hooks. He probably still takes a TKO loss if they fight, though.
4. JOSHUA
Okay, he definitely has problems with his stamina and chin, but I just can’t lower him much more than #4 due to his great wins against (an aging) Klitschko, Povetkin, Parker, Whyte, etc. as that’s a pretty good resume. Love him or hate him, he does look pretty solid when he’s confident and fighting behind his jab, not running out ahead of himself trying to blow people away. Of course, if he loses bad again to Ruiz, he may fall out of my top 5.
5. PARKER
Very sound boxer with a great chin. Has a win against Ruiz as well. I’d like to see him against Ortiz, and especially Wilder and Fury. In his loss to Joshua, (IMO) the ref didn’t let him fight his fight. The Whyte fight also was close and he was coming off a tough loss.
6. ORTIZ
Agree with you about the technical brilliance of Ortiz. His footwork’s pretty slow and I think his power has slipped a bit over the last few years, but those are the only real negatives I’ve noticed when watching him fight. One thing’s for sure - he’s got a great chin seeing how he can get knocked down multiple times by Wilder over the course of their two fights — full force in this last one — and look relatively okay afterwards. I still need to see him face some more elite HW’s before I rank him higher, though.
7. MILLER
I agree with everything you said about Big Baby. I was a huge fan of his and was really upset when the whole steroids thing happened. I really thought he had a decent shot against the likes of Joshua and Wilder.
8. WHYTE
I agree again with everything you said about Dillian. He went toe to toe against Joshua before getting KTSO. His powerful left hooks and rough fighting style gives him as good a shot as any against the likes of Wilder. Too bad he was using steroids...
9. RIVAS
He fought quite well against a (steroid-using) Dillian Whyte, and some felt he deserved the win.
10. KOWNACKI
I feel Kownacki is a bit of a dark horse in the HW division and has the skills to really do some damage.
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Daniel Dubois— he’s still raw and doesn’t deserve a spot in the top ten yet, but I expect him to become a real contender in the next few years.
Usyk— he did amazing things at cruiserweight and only time will tell how he is at HW.Last edited by Legends456; 11-24-2019, 05:55 PM.Comment

Yeah, that's not something you can prove. What you can prove is that Fury lost only two rounds to Wilder in a fight that actually has happened.
Head-to-Head Wallin is the best Heavyweight after Wilder. How many rounds did Fury drop to him?Comment
