His skills aren't that good at all, he just has great power. How come Wilder can get away with relying so heavily on punching power, but not fighters in the lower divisions?

This current Heavyweight division is crap. Its highly competitive so it makes it exciting but technical ability wise its weak. Wilder is pretty much the Heavyweight Breidis Prescott but in this division he can get away with it. Technical ability in the lower divisions is of a higher standard where 1 trick ponies get easily exposed. At heavy these are big slow men with average technical ability. Its more like target practice for Wilder. All the best names at this weight Wilder has avoided.

Because power is an increasing factor as you move up the weights.

Randall Bailey comes to mind.... I think the lower weight classes are just more skilled and have better reflexes.

If Randall Bailey was at heavyweight he would probably have the same success.

Now just think if Wilder fought all the guys Bailey fought. No way he beating a Miguel Cotto relying on punch.

Just look at the Figueroa vs Ceja fight can you imagine a heavyweight bout with both fighters landing that many punches.

That why i like the smaller weight classes they are like buzzing bees and go toe to toe for 12 rounds.

There’s been punchers like Wilder in every weight class throughout history. He doesn’t only have power though, he can take a punch. There’s been many punchers in history who could dish it but can’t take it.

What's up fighters using one hand to block the opponent then use the other to punch....
                  What kind style is that.
                  Thats exactly how wilder fights.

Many of these HWs tower over their family members. They are genetic freaks who produced more hgh during puberty. That means more cartilage was converted to bone..that includes the skull. In relative terms a punch from an equally sized person will damage them more than it would an ave sized person.
That's why in recent years the likes of Fury and Eddie Hearn have pointed out that any HW can get knocked out by a big punch from another HW. This has proven true in the HW division many times.

Lhe lower divisions are far more skilled than the HW because there are more boxers at those levels...which means the dross is filtered out early on. There are guys who have power who won't make it out of the amateurs because they get outboxed.
