I agree that at 168 the trilogy would have a fun added dimension to it...too bad Smith and BJS looked poor in their last two fights...but maybe that will make those fights more doable/winnable now as well for GGG and Canelo

To be fair he had passed the eye test to this point...and had the WBSS under his belt, which gave him some acclaim/made it seem like he had a solid resume...but taking a closer look at that, the only good win he really has to this point is over Groves...and Groves was always chinny and maybe shot at that time.

Ryder is a good fighter too...but yeah if Smith was who a lot of us thought he was...then he would looked much better tonight...when you face a few guys like John Ryder, you find out what you're made of...facing a few guys like that separates the good/really good/great...he is at best just really good right now...which probably won't be enough for Canelo...even with the weight class advantage.
