    mayweather has lots to prove

In Floyd Mayweather jr's mind he is the best that boxing has ever seen. I don't think so, but he's got talent and the potential to prove it. My opinion though is until Pretty Boy Floyd fights and beats a for real superstar welterweight he aint the man in welterweight and No way the man at Junior Middle! He wants to be that guy beat Mosley, and De La Hoya, unify the welterweight title and defend, defend, defend the title against all comers the like of Miguel Cotto, Collazo, Hatton etc... thats how you become great!

Mayweather doesnt have anything to prove to me, if his career turns out to be lackluster at Welterweight, its not a big thing to me as even some of the greatest lost a bit of edge when they moved up. The only thing he has to prove to me, is ...just how great of a legacy will he establish? How much more greatness can he attain? He already has a hall of fame resume.

Its not because im biased or anything like that..but looking at his resume, logically all this "proving" simply means to me how much more can he push himself at the higher weights against opponents of similar stature.

There are alot of good welterweight opponents out there for him to fight but they have to be willing to step in and fight as well.

Hatton and Cotto aren't looking at a PBF fight right now.
Floyd would have his way with Baldy.

At welter it's either Mosley or Margarito. I personally want to see the latter.

mayweather is unproven at 140 and 147 so i beleive hes got everything to prove in my eyes.
hes legacy shudnt rely on hes 130 and 135 achievments because that was what 5 years ago when he was younger, hes in hes prime years and hes letting the world pass him by and its a shame really cause hes got the skills to become the greatest of all time

PBF has only one thing to prove.

He needs to prove that he deserves the no 1 p4p title.

I would prefer if he'll just retire rather than fight HYPED opponents who really are not in his class.

He doesn't have a ton to prove to be one of the greatest ever, but to be up there with guys like Ali, and others he has to beat a lot of the other welterweight opponents right now. I think its most likely he will fight Carlos Baldomir.

PBF's resume is pretty thin, and no top P4P opponents the last 3+ years. He's collecting paper belts (the IBF welterwight belt that Judah kept? LOL). If he fights Baldomir next and wins, he can call himself THE champ at 147 and that's a big deal for his legacy even if we believe Baldomir isn't an elite fighter.

Father time isn't waiting for him, so he needs to take it up a notch while he still can. Is anyone happy watching PBF beat up on second string opponents? What's the point of being a boxing fan if you aren't screaming for the best to fight the best, and frustrated when it isn't so?
