I'm the first person to praise Jones most of the time, however it's clear in my view that he won't be returning to the top.

Problems arise when he keeps fighting at his current ring age, and does something to damage his legacy.

The last thing anyone want's to read or hear, is how Jones never beat anyone and was knocked out by the people he faced.

Children who already over populate boxing forums and discussion groups, aren't familiar with Roy Jones Jr because he was before their time. Yet they seem to find ways to hate on him, for reasons unbeknown. Most of them include outlandish claims like "Roy was ducking Michaelsveski" and "Nunn would have knocked Jones out cold" sound like they're being repeated through a parrot. The same people that critiscise Jones are the same ones who don't know what the **** they're discussing.
I can't agree with you anymore. Honestly before Jones stepped into the ring I was hoping he could get his 50 and just get out of there, but after seeing such a dominating fight it makes me wonder if he can make some noise, before he goes out. I doubt he could take a few of the big named fighters down, but he might as well go to the next level. You gotta respect the man for coming back and doing what he loves to do even in his circumstances. All of his haters need to realize that.

      Why even watch it?

Where you expecting it would rival your "sucks ass" view you ultimatly came away with?

This is exactly what I'm talking about. You can't tell me you didn't see that coming a mile away.

Instead, you watch, validate what you were thinking going in, and then complain about how you didn't like it.

Why not just watch the Harris Clottey card?

I think if Roy was in HW would be better for him if he never came down to fight Tarver instead kept the HW belt and waited for defense title that way his legacy will be better resume than any HW in history. Why? because he is not really a HW and did it.

What I really dislike how people want to claim Jones fought a bum on saturday night when Badi is a top 15 fighter in major boxing governing bodies.

This is what some of these guys are talking about.

There was NOTHING about this fight that says he's going to make some noise. He's clearly lost some refelx, doesn't carry the same pop on his shots, and fights without jabbing and with his hands down.

He was one of the all time greats, but with those fundemental flaws, he's not reinventing himself at 38.

He did it to get the 50th win, and because he loves being in the ring.

People looking at it for more than it is only fuels the idiots to hate in overdrive.

I think the reason I watched it is because I like Roy Jones Jr and I know his career is coming to an end.

I'm a big enough fan of his to hope he can actually do something big, but I got that gut feeling he might need to make his leave..I was nervous as **** when Badi was pressuring Roy in the first round, **** if that was Johnson doing that Jones would've been down in the first round..

                  Doesn't make sense to me.

As a fan, the fact he got win #50 and seemed comfortable back in the ring outweighed the fact the fight wasn't competitive.

I don't see how a fan of his could watch and just come away disgusted with the tone of the fight itself.

Especially a guy who lives to watch ****ty meaningless Heavyweight fights week after week after week.

Prince wasn't there to fight, he would rather hit Roy in the balls 20 times. The venue was horrible and some drunk ass whore wouldn't stop screaming through the intros. I have to say I was not happy with the whole main event period. There is no such thing as ****ty HW fights, unless it's Ruiz vs Fres O.

Yeah, you can have Rahman v.s. Barrett back.
