Sulaiman responds to Loma and more

    Cliff notes

-Says its his team he never approaches fighters like he also never approached Canelo. It must have been some language barrier and Loma should contact his team for clarification.

-Says the franchise title is good because we want to see the best fight the best and basically the champ doesn't have to be tied to mandatories.

-Asked about Loma vs Haney he said it should happen eventually and makes the comparison with Canelo vs Floyd saying Canelo desperately wanted to fight Floyd and we seen what happened. Says maybe if Canelo waited 2 more years it would have been a different story. So it looks like he doesn't think Haney is ready.

-When asked if Loma fights the the winner of Lopez/Commey will he still be undisputed, he says yes he is still the WBC champion and he represents the WBC.

-When asked if Commy or Lopez can be undisputed if they beat Loma he says of course they can be undisputed. Then proceeds to say they cant win the franchise title lol.
Says just give it time lol so ****** should have just made a super champion and regular like the wba. With the franchise title the champion gets all the perks of being the champ but the opponent can never win it or take it from them.

More damage control after fan backlash. Suliaman and Bob really messed up the messaging on this move.

I listened to another interview with Sulaiman where he was asked about the status of Devin Haney. He replied that Haney was the WBC lightweight champion.

He was then asked if Loma would be the undisputed lightweight champion if he beat the winner of Commey vs Lopez. He replied that yes, Loma would be the undisputed champion if he won that fight, because he would be "representing" the WBC in the fight.

The obvious follow up question to that is ... if Haney is the WBC lightweight champion, then how can Loma become the undisputed lightweight champion without fighting Haney?

That question wasn't asked though. Nobody ever has the balls to ask Sulaiman a question which would really but him on the spot like that.

The other interview I listened to, the interviewer asked him if he agreed that the undisputed champion should be the only champion in that division, and Sulaiman answered "yes"

And a minute later he said that Haney was the WBC champion.

It makes no sense. How could Loma become the undisputed champion if Haney is also a champion in the same division?
