I didn’t think he was being biased for stripping Canelo because Canelo, as always, was avoiding a mandatory opponent. He hasn’t fought one in eight years.

I still thought Canelo had a rightful claim to the middleweight championship of the world because I don’t believe sanctioning bodies determine who the champion is.

That’s because I don’t change my position like someone who’s biased would.

I also don’t think it was biased for Sulaiman to call Golovkin and ambassador for the WBC. I would expect him to say that about any of his champions. He’s said that about others as well.

Where it goes to far is when the WBC invents a belt to allow Canelo to avoid mandatories, says he’s the best pound for pound fighter in the world and issues statements condemning Canelo’s opponents for not giving him enough credit. No one does that except Sulaiman for Canelo.
