It's a fuckin dumbass situation to be sure. Kinda like the WBA Super and World bullchit. I mean... which is the 'real' title? The WBC would have us believe it's kinda both of 'em, but clearly that ain't acceptable to anyone who feels the WBC championship should mean anything. So which is it?

Between the screwed up franchise belt and social media interpretations and inferential information, it is all a mess and only fools would count those sources as gospel instead of the gossip and off the cuff statements that it all adds up to. All I want is to see Haney, Loma, Davis, Lopez, Commey, Fortuna, Ryan Garcia, even Rancid Bartholumule for his odd style, etc., all fight each other and see where the chips fall. What would solve this very easily, and solve the WBA problems as well, is if everyone agreed that if the organization itself doesn't call you a world champion, then you're not a world champion.

So not only shouldn't the WBC Franchise Championship not be considered a world title, but neither should the WBA Super Championship. They should both be treated like Diamond, Gold or Silver titles. They're not world titles.

Watch how quickly the WBA would get rid of the super titles if Manuel Charr was considered the WBA World Champion by everyone instead of Joshua or Ruiz. Charr literally is the WBA World Champion. Stop doing mental gymnastics to insist that the super champions are the "real" WBA World Champions. If the WBA says they're not the WBA World Champion, then they aren't. If the WBC says Loma or Canelo aren't the WBC World Champion, then they aren't.

If we stopped giving the benefit of the doubt to the fighter that has been "elevated," fighters will start demanding that they not be elevated.

Right now, the WBC and WBA want to have their cake and eat it too. Keep the stars in the fold, even though the stars don't want to make mandatory defenses, but then still make money from all the regional belts and eliminators that people only pay for to try to become mandatory.
