that first fight was a massive fix mate. we dont know how much 'they' profited from the fix...but it was enough for dazn's parent company to 'seperate the two businesses' and then merge into another company eg to keep their books seperate from dazn.
most people are clueless..they dont even realise dazn got into american boxing as soon as sports betting was legalised in the US.
nor do they realise dazn's parent company is/was entirely involved in providing data to the sports betting industry.
the whole card was one big william hill ad.
multiple fights were fixed eg josh kelly getting a gift draw when he clearly lost. katie taylor getting a gift win when it was a loss or a draw at the very least.
can you imagine the spread betting on that card? when you saw such fixes, would anyone doubt aj blitzing ruiz?
aj: people talk about how i predicted i would knock ruiz out in the 7th round whilst i had my hand on the william hill logo
it was just a coincidence.

watch the fight..all specially coordinated. like when aj went to the ropes at the end of the 3rd and he purposely placed his head for ruiz to 'catch him' and went flying into the ropes.
that 7th round 'quit' was all part of it.
the guy who knew they'd fixed the fight, was sam watson..and he was visibly pissed off postfight.
there were multiple reasons why they'd do it. eg kill the potential of an aj vs wilder superfight becoming so big that it only works on ppv (or have to pay $300m+ up front which they would not generate via subs at this stage). wilder rejecting the dazn offer was the final straw..they realised they had to try play a different game.
they got the attention and mexican subs for the rematch.
as dazn have repeated many times, aj losing was good for them.
