Maidana cemented his legacy with his fight(s) vs Floyd...Norton really made his legacy with his close fights with Ali....you can't mention Floyd and Maidana, or Ali and Norton, in the same sentence without giving immense praise to Maidana and Norton...otherwise you just come off as if you don't know what you are talking about/are a 'hater'.
The better comparison for Canelo-GGG would be the Ali-Norton fights...where many impartial people feel Norton could have been 3-0 in those 3 fights (probably should have - how did you score them btw?)...just as many feel GGG could (should really) be 2-0 in those 2 fights (how did you score those 2 as well?)
Norton had some other clear losses on his resume against other top guys...GGG doesn't really have any of those blemishes, but he hasn't fought guys like Foreman and Holmes either...Shavers was a good fighter but not really more than B level and GGG has a few of those types on his win list as well.
So yeah the point is - you can't talk about Ali being so great...and then when Norton is brought up, go ballistic and try and tear him down...you have to give him props, otherwise you seem like a huge hater or ignorant...the same goes with Canelo and GGG.Comment

And to be clear, Im not singling out Canelo. If you watch most the big fights in recent memory, dating back to Klitschko-Fury and many others even before that, up to Pacquiao-Thurman with Thurman IMO pulling punches, Inoue-Donaire with guys so fast you really have to slow it down to see what they were IMO doing, Wilder-Fury, Wilder-Ortiz, GGG-Jacobs, I could go on and on, they are fake scripted fights in my opinion. Wilder-Brezeale is a perfect example because it looked so real live, and there were even replay memes that looked real, but when you really study it, you realize every replay released publicly obscures the impact point of the punch, so you can only see Brezeale's head snap but you can't see how hard the punch actually hit him, but what is visible is enough, when you really look, to IMO see Wilder pulling and angling the punch away from Brezeale right at impact, and Brezeale snapping his head away at the same angle by his own power.
Then he stretches out similar to Fury, but uses his elbow and forearm to catch himself on the canvas so his head doesn't bounce off the canvas, so he controls the fall and then only lets his head bounce a little bit to sell it, but not actually bounce hard where it would injure him.
Did the punch land on him? Yes. Was it full power, did it land clean, no. Did he snap his head to the side to lessen the impact and act, yes. All of that is my opinion. Boxing is now mostly a fake sport IMO. No matter how crazy this may sound to anyone reading this, I want to say it's completely understandable to have that reaction at first, but what you should do is go look for yourself, slow down the footage so you can really see what's going on, and then see how you feel.Comment

Also just to provide some perspective to your comment to try and help with the understanding here.

no, Golovkin does not have anyone like Shavers on his win list
I get your point, and you do have a point... but, you are over-stating it
you cannot deny the point that Robbie made... running a great fighter close, does not mean that you are great...
you think that Golovkin is great... well, is Derevyanchenko great for running Golovkin close ? ... immediately after losing to Jacobs, leaving him 0-2 against world-class opponents
Maidana, Derevyanchenko - and to a certain extent Golovkin... need to do two things to bridge that gap... 1) actually win those fights... 2) do that repeatedly, over and over, against multiple great opponents... Mayweather did that, and Canelo is doing the same thing
btw, go check Norton's resume before you throw him in there with MaidanaComment
