 Lol

I'm so happy this is hitting mainstream now. Boxing fans aren't naive to see that something was very wrong with Kovalevs punches that were being thrown. Boxing fans deserve real fights.Comment

 Lol

I simply love watching the Canelo fans in the forum. THEY WENT FROM SAYING PRIOR TO THE FIGHT Kovalevs a beast. Hes still very very dangerous and hes in his prime. Then once the fights done and THEIR ARE MANY ALLEGATIONS OF A POSSIBLE FIXED FIGHT due to how everything looked now those same Canelo fans ARE SAYING KOVALEV WAS A SHOT OLD OVER THE HILL DEHYDRATED FIGHTER. Anything to stick up for this Canelo.Even if they have to change their story. Now its okay to say Kovalev was old and over the hill. If you all think this was the first SUSPECT fight go watch CANELO VS ANGULO , CANELO VS Chavez Jr. Those were extremely suspect.Comment

I don't think the Jacobs fight was fixed. But I can't wrap my head around people who can't even entertain that the Kovalev fight was fixed.

I know Kov is passed his prime but he's still no chump by any stretch. In that fight he looked more intimidated than Khan did going against him. To top it off, he dropped on a punch less convincing than Khan did.

Also take into consideration the big WWE style intro where he was basically declared winner before the first bell. And the fact that his power doesn't seem to have moved up with him.

As much as I despise Canelo for his blatant duck of GGG while he was still a menace. I'll give him credit that he's still a great fighter. But let's not pretend he's not being propped WWE style to rake in tons of money for the organization.

To anyone that knows boxing that fight couldn't possibly look more fixed.Comment

Got to call a spade a spade. Chit looked fixed.

They seemed to be the best of friends going into the fight then Kova punches with absolutely 0 authority and then goes down from a light blow from a guy coming up in weight that hits less harder than his last opponent Yarde lol FOHComment

The real news is, Ginger will NEVER pursue another belt @ LHW vs A Beterbiev or D Bivol, Super middleweight vs BJSaunders, C Plant, D Benavidez or C Smith...you can forget about MW also, GGG, Charlo or Andrade...enjoy your FAKE, corrupted, paid for belts only prima donna...Comment

With 4 deaths in boxing so far this year. If this **** was fixed I’d go down from a body punch like everyone was expecting. Not from a shot to the head then a free chin shot. Sensible and objective post. The economic incentives for Canelo fixing the Kovalev fight are simply not there. He has nothing to gain and everything to lose by doing so. Canelo's contract with DAZN calls for a guaranteed, win or lose, minimum of $35 million per fight. Canelo has $280 million left on that contract, which he would surely lose if he got caught, not to mention prison time and the national disgrace that goes with that. And he most surely would be caught.

A fix of that type would involve many folks and all of them would have to keep the secret. That does not happen. Why run the risk of having one of them leaking the information or extorting millions to keep quiet?

Does Canelo choose his opponents carefully to ensure he reaches his goals? Of course, but so do most elite fighters. But he also trains hard and is an improving elite talent. Ever hear of PBC fighters? They too are carefully matched, but they don't "fix" fights. Choosing opponents carefully and training hard good sense.

Enough with this ****** babble about fixing fights. It makes no sense for a guy who runs the risk of losing more than $280 million dollars if he does so. Comment

People fix fights for economic gain. There is no economic advantage for Canelo Alvarez to fix a fight when he is guaranteed 8 more fights at a minimum of $280 million. There are HUGE disincentives for him to do so, including the loss of the 280 million, plus the loss of endorsements, legacy and so on. He was in a no-lose situation with Kovalev in the sense that if he lost to Kovalev he would still make his $35 million for that fight and $280 more for future fights and simply say that Kovalev was too big and life goes on.

No one, not even some of these barely organic morons who post on this site would be that ****** to put approximately 1/3 of a billion dollars at risk. I take that back there is one lame brain who posts on this site who would be that ******, but rather than cause embarrassment he shall remain nameless.Comment
