They were also two 35+ year old fighters cashing in on a big payday off the names they built. That's the biggest fact right there. Floyd out of his own mouth admitted to marinating things. Fight itself was nothing but hype. Let it go man the credit Floyd gets for that is minimal.

In his own words, he said he was talking about fighting the rematch with Pacquiao before the Thurman - Pac fight......Then when Pacquiao still looked competitive and dangerous against Thurman all of a sudden we're hearing crickets again. Mayweather would have been chomping at the bit for a rematch if Manny had looked bad in that fight. This just seems to confirm that Mayweather picks his battles very carefully. He should continue fighting inexperienced, bantamweight UFC fighters because he'll get beat by most of the top welterweights.
