It feels like Ortiz has reached a new level and Wilder is looking ahead

Ortiz is in the best shape I’ve ever seen him in. In every interview he comes across as a guy who’s set on pushing himself to another level and becoming heavyweight champion.

Wilder, on the other hand, seems to be focused on fighting Tyson Fury again and the outcome of the Joshua-Ruiz rematch.

    Interesting post...

I enjoy watching Wilder; I also really like Ortiz although I’ve not seen many of his fights.

In the interviews and articles I have seen on Ortiz, he seems pretty like able and comes across as pretty dedicated and focused. It doesn’t surprise me that he would jump at a second chance to fight Wilder, and I have no doubt that he is giving this his ALL, both in training camp and in the ring. He’s gonna leave it all in the ring, and give all his blood sweat and tears if he has to, win or lose he can hold his head high.

Wilder’s always been a bit of an enigma to me. One minute he seems like this really awesome, caring guy and the next minute, he’s talking about wanting to put an opponent in a body bag. He also talks about wanting to be a minister when he’s retired, then talks about feeling “possessed” in the ring in another interview. Like I said, can’t quite figure the guy out - he seems to contradict himself on so many levels. I think he’s a better boxer than people give him credit for, but I do think he has some glaring weaknesses. Up to this point, they’ve never been fully exposed since his right hand (and depending on your personal opinion, you could say judges and refs) have helped to get him out of some tough sc****s.
I’m of the opinion that he is most likely ready and focused for Ortiz, and that a lot of what he says in interviews is mind games for his opponents. I’m not sure if you follow soccer, but if you are familiar with the soccer coach Jose Mourinho and the type of psychological games he plays during interviews, you’ll understand a bit of what I’m saying about Wilder.
I kind of think he likes being underestimated as this slightly crazy, unpredictable, loud guy. Not a psychologist here, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it started as a mask and became something that’s a part of him.

People usually lose their appetite and weight as they get in to old age 60+. This is happening to Ortiz.

Funny, but clearly not the case here as they also lose muscle mass.

I dunno man. Ortiz looks like a fucking monster.

The hair cut has taken 10 years off Ortiz's look, that doesn't mean he would perform better 18 months later though, none of his previous fights since the loss has made me think he can beat Wilder.
