Fortuna vs Haney is the problem DAZN has created.

Fortuna's promoter saying Eddie Hearn sent over a low-ball offer. I doubt it was a low-ball offer, probably on par with what the fight is actually worth. But DAZN has shown they'll over pay for fights so any fighter who has other network options is going to take DAZN to the bank in order to get the fight made.

Dervychenko vs. GGG was a $2 mil fight the year before on HBO. That's why GGG said the fight wasn't worth the money he was going to get paid. DAZN paid over $20 mil for that card and they had to or else GGG would be fighting on FOX or Showtime or he'd have to relinquish his mandatory position.

Fortuna is going to want to be over payed or they'll run the purse bid up and possibly have the fight on another network.

Actually GGG would be fighting on ESPN. Remember he had agreed to the parameters of a deal with top rank before the monster DAZN offer

I mean Fortuna and his team can take it to a purse bid. If he feels the original offer is low, that is fine. Let it go to purse bid and see what happens.

Everyone is overpaying fighters now. DAZN created the issue but everyone is doing it to keep up.

Errol Spence earned $8 million for the Porter fight. His previous high was $1.2 million

Keith Thurman made $7 million for his fight with Pacquiao. His previous high was $2 million.

Wilder made $10 million for the Brezeale fight. His previous high was $2 million.

Broner made $2.5 million for the Pacquiao fight, a career high.

Terence Crawford took home a career high purse of $5.5 million against Khan. His previous high was $3 million.

I think this post shows that DAZN isn't the cause of overpaying fighters. PBC was the originator. DAZN just doing it worse than they did because they are desperate for subscriptions.

Let it go to purse bid and bid low 2 mils. If PBC wins it fine. It is not a big fight although it is a good fight for us boxing fans.
