Ran into Victor Ortiz at the Cheese Cake Factory

I was having dinner with my fam and boom there he was with his fam... we struck up a convo and he told me the following
    • He is no longer with Knuckleheads gym and is on the outs with Coach Hoss....
    • He will no longer finance "his" gym (Knuckleheads) and let others take credit for it like it belongs to them. So he pulled out completely and has left Ventura county...
    • He is now with Freddy Roach and is mounting a comeback
    • He is in the final stages of clearing the **** allegations and that should be over soon
    • He is coming back for all the belts.......

Do you think Vic O is done or does he have one more run in him???

Ive met him a couple times hes an awesome, nice guy. After seeing his last fights hes not himself anymore. It could be training or whatever but i fear the best of victor is behind us. If the same victor ortiz from his prime came back though he’d definitely have a chance in todays welterweight climate

I remember when he was blowing up. I honestly thought he was gonna be the next thang until he met Chino. Chino literally took his soul.

I still can’t believe he was gonna face Emperor Canelo at one time, but Josesito phucked that up, too.

Vic should just hang ‘em. He’s done. If he wants to fight one more, let it be with Rios.

Ever since Hoss took over Mario Aguinigas place as assistant trainer, Ortiz has been declining. He should have trained with Roach as soon as he lost to Maidana. Roach would have had more success with Ortiz than he did with Khan. Ortiz has a family now, so it’s interesting to see if that lights anything up. With that being said, he should go after Omar Figueroa or a rematch with Berto or Josesito Lopez. After that, we can start talking about the bigger names. He needs to take care of that case first. I hope he didn’t do it for the sake of the victim and Ortiz’ kids.

People can talk all the **** they want from their chairs, Victor is a bad dude. When Berto dropped him in their rematch I was positive he would stay down, dude stood up and started throwing BOMBS.

Saying that, he looked pretty much done against Devon Alexander. Only fight I really want to see him in is a fight against an equally shot Rios, whos now retired anyway.

Wonder if we'll see him a Thurman's tuneup fight or somethin.

I think hes washed. I dont see him making serious movement towards a belt although I suppose he could walk into a title fight if he got lucky with someone needing or wanting a name. For better or worse Victor gots a name in boxing. But yea at the tip top hes done & hes just in the trading brain cells for cash business these days.

He can probably land a Terrence Crawford fight. Ortiz is better than Crawford’s “best win” which most consider is Horn. Crawford will give any of the bottom 20 welterweights a shot.
