Just playing devil's advocate since I don't really believe Kov a lot but maybe he injured it during the fight and didn't pick up on it until the adrenaline wore off.

It's not a surgery. It's PRP-therapy. Plasmolifting, plasmoplastics or whatever it's called in the US. Blood plasma enriched by thrombocytes is injected into the problem area to accelerate the renewal of the tissue.

I swear the first time i watched GGG vs Canelo i felt like the contract forbid body punches or something.
