  • Comments Thread For: Eddie Hearn: KSI vs. Logan Paul Did More Than Joshua-Ruiz

Eddie Hearn has revealed the rematch between KSI and Logan Paul had more pay-per-view buys than Anthony Joshua's world title defence against Andy Ruiz Jr in June. The Matchroom Boxing boss staged the professional rematch of the two social media stars last weekend in Los Angeles.

"You don't realise the audience these guys have...."

Hmmm or we realize that you did an increadibly bad job promoting Anthony Joshua's fight.

Goes to show that making easy match ups, building profiles forever, not fighting the best competition, creating fake records with Ws over bums eventually backfires.

Even a boxing match with two morons is more profitable than the (then) biggest HW superstar.

Boxing promoters should start taking notes and wake up.

Wow these YouTube guys do more PPVs buys than Spence, Pac, Joshua and get more subscriptions than Canelo. Incredible when you think about it

I don’t see anything wrong with what DAZN is doing.

I don’t fancy KSI or Paul, never knew about them to begin with, BUT DAZN exploited their following FOR the sake of BOXING! That’s a plus for boxing!

Fact is, IF ANY NEW CASUAL enjoyed the BOXING MATCH, then in theory they would be intrigued by the real boxers of the sport. If 10% liked the sport because of these two, it’s a new following.

Thing is, I don’t see any real boxing fan ever watching this from back catalogue replay. I have no interest in ever watching the fight as well. Just gotta be honest.

It’s really not incredible. They came with their own fanbase from talking about games on youtube. The gaming industry is bigger and more lucrative than boxing.

Will that make up for the $658 MILLION loss DAZN showed for the year Eddie? GTFOH

I believe it. I watched this fight and I didn't know who KSI was, vaguely knew who the hell Logan Paul was, never watched their first fight or cared. But I watched this fight simply because it was free part of my DAZN subscription.

Because DAZN was involved if you are in the boxing world you knew about the fight. I bet a large percent of the boxing community whether they want to admit it or not watched this fight and you add that to youtubers who don't care about boxing. And according what UK fans saying it was way cheaper then traditional UK PPVs. Hearn not saying it made more money just that it did more buys then Joshua/Ruiz. He also isn't saying it did more subscribers on DAZN then Canelo/Kovalev just that it did more live views. Remember if you paid DAZN for Canelo/Kovalev then the KSI/Logan Paul fight the next week was free part of your subscription.

I agree that gaming is way bigger than boxing. But I can’t imagine every gamer interested to pay to see them box. Or their parents paying for it.

But your right. Shows how low down on the totem pole boxing is in America

That's not what Eddie is saying. He never said it did more subscriptions than Canelo. He also isn't saying it made more money then Spence, Pac, Joshua PPVs. This fight was sold dirt cheap on PPV compared to those other PPVs that generated way more money and in DAZN Canelo case it was free at no extra charge already included in your month subscription if you paid for Canelo/Kovalev fight or was included in your year subscription if you already paid $99 for the year.

For example I would of never paid a single penny to watch this fight but I watched because it was free part of my subscription. I bet a lot of boxing fans did the same thing said well it's a big event it's free for me on DAZN anyway I already paid for the Canelo fight I'll watch the Haney and Saunders fights on the undercard and stayed around to see the KSI/Logan. Canelo drove more DAZN subscribers If it drew more subscribers then Hearn would of said that he is just talking views.
