The Irony of Hearns ******ity, is that the franchise champion title (as silly as it may be) allows the fighter to avoid mandatory challengers and frees that fighter to fight any opponent. Last I checked, neither whyte nor AJ where the WBC mando, so how exactly would accepting the franchise title constitute ducking? If anything it makes it easier for Wilder to go out and fight AJ.
