If some of the usual names on youtube (Ego etc) are to be believed, preliminary talks are allegedly underway and we should get used to the idea of Canelo-Saunders as a distinct possibility for Cinco de Mayo. In the event it comes to fruition I think the two likeliest possibilities are:

    A) Saunders weirdly self-destructs and somehow sabotages the fight before it comes to pass, or

    B) He goes all in with a potential career high performance win or lose, possibly on the way to getting stopped.

I find either far more likely than Saturdays flat-footed sad boy weirdness. If it gets inked I have a feeling he'll reign it in for the payday, though. Had he maintained more momentum coming off the Lemieux instructional video (fighting and beating Andrade etc) and better built on his skillset instead of...what's actually happened, I'd have far more confidence in him as a genuine UD threat (performance wise, official scorecards be damned), but I really have to temper my expectations now. I would at the very least still expect him to look very impressive for at least a few founds, moreso than Kov did at any point. It could still be a hell of a fight if the "right" Billy shows up, but ya know..."A Tale of Two Saunders" and all.
