After that performance by Haney, I don't think Lomachenko is going to have problems sleeping at night.

He shouldn't have given away his title, cause Haney definitely isn't that good. Tank and Teofimo are better opponents.

Haney or Tank will not get anywhere near Lomo because of the protective franchise status. Lol.

I don't know what you guys want, Haney is ready and deserve his shot ; BUMCHENKO needs to stop running from Devin Haney!
They don't want anything...many of them are programmed into a thinking pattern that is destroying young fighters. It goes something like this: "Humph!!!! the way prospect A beat on his picked opponent demonstrates his lack of craft! Why he should have beat that prospect much harder!"

Now... If that sounds ridiculous it is. You don't judge a fighter this way. But what it does is create road blocks for the Haney's of the world. What people should say is Fight fight and fight!!! Go in there against Loma, call Tank out, and get that experience! Lose a few! by all means, learn from those losses, and just keep going.

Haney, unlike Tank for example, seems willing, and his father seems to be a capable guy. Canelo fought Floyd when he was green and it did nothing but make him better.

In the history of this sport are many great, even ATG fighters who took losses, and quite a few at times. And even a fighter who is not great, a guy like Chisora, actually could be a champion because he has always been willing to fight anyone at anytime.

My own prejudice is partiality to Oakland! Just a **** em up, hard scrabble town... and Haney was raised there apparently, despite pops moving to Vegas at some time. Oakland is like Pittsburgh in times past, producing guys who have that toughness in the ring. This fight was actually a decent scrap. The other kid knew how to fight off the back leg when he needed to do so and fought back when he could.

But of course the media, the way they want people to think, etc obscures the reality that this kid is very young, very good, and possibly capable of being an excellent fighter. How will he get better? NO doubt about it! By calling Adrien Broner, hanging out in strip clubs and bowling alleys, wearing large pieces of ***elry, and engaging in twitter wars, with occasional street fights... We can only hope that Haney stops challenging other fighters, and stops fighting so much and starts doing what he is supposed to do and playing for the media!!

Even in this section where people say some of the dumbest s h i t, your statement about Haney cashing out has to be one of the most awesomely ****** things said on record. You would make Elroy proud

I think at this point, after seeing what Haney did last night, he would get embarrassed by Lomachenko.
If I'm Haney and his team, the next year I'd fight progressively better opponents and in 2021 I'd try to get Garcia or Tank in the ring and if Loma is at 135 then, try for the fight at that point because Loma will be 2 years older and maybe a little shot but right now, he doesn't have any shot of winning that fight.

Haney vs Garcia at 140 in a few years could actually be a mega fight if both keep winning and growing their fanbases.

Great read, Devin Haney cant win despite having the right motives and goals in this grimy sport. The inherent rebuttal to Lomachenko's quest to become 'undisputed' in Haney's possession of the WBC lightweight title has caused Vasily fans to become very bitter and angry at the 'Dream' Devin Haney.

No he has a real belt. The fake belt is on the previous owner. Haney understands that and is trying to fight the previous owner with the new fake belt and you bums still criticize

I've always said Loma would beat Haney but I'd like to see it still.

Loma didn't look that great against Campbell who is good but hardly the greatest fighter in the world. Loma got hurt to the body in that fight. I think Haney would have more to offer than Campbell.
