I imagine there is clear instructions in the dressing room that say, do not punch your opponent when he is down on the mat. So I don't know why he'd get a warning.... Props to the ref, because from what I saw he had his hands full with 2 fools who really had no clue of the rules. A normal debut fight between pros you hope they at least have 15-20 amateur bouts. I don't blame them or the promotors. The blame is more with fans. Not enough boxing fans are real fans of the sport. There are too many fans that are just groupies of specific fighters and ignore fights that deserve more attention. For example, fights like inoue vs donaire and beterbiev vs gvozdyk deserved more attention than what they got.
