Tevin Farmer had a standing offer for $2m to fight Davis on Showtime, with his DAZN deal up (DiBella has a great relationship with Ellerbe/Haymon that if the money was low, that could've been rather easily turned into a piece of the event.

On top of that, Berchelt, Herring, and regular WBA champion Cancio, couldn't sell out the 8k-seat Dignity Health, while Davis is working with 20k-seat basketball arenas, and Top Rank isn't sending anyone anywhere.

Davis will have this December fight in front of a pretty well packed arena, hopefully win, and will likely line up a blockbuster clash with Leo Santa Cruz by Spring 2020 (potentially on PPV), and the build will continue.

The WBA regular belt is just a fake belt.
That's not true; regular champion is supposed to get a shot at the super champion every 16 months or so.

Basically the reason why Golovkin had to fight Jacobs finally.

If that actually happens, Gervonte will have my respect.

It's worth nothing but I will think a lot more of him than the current smoke and mirrors being used to promote a edgey african american boxer.

They're going backward with his career over there at MP...
And a Santa Cruz fight does nothing either, the guy is a 126lb pillow fisted fighter, Tank will run right through him and it proves nothing at all.
Gervonta Davis is spearheading the launch into the Atlanta market, with a fight that apparently now has them opening up the full building in due time.

Davis vs Santa Cruz is another name vs name fight (that could possibly be PPV, tbh).

Davis is basically on the money right now; after selling out Baltimore, a near sellout in Atlanta, and a massive event with Leo Santa Cruz will confirm that.

With Davis on the money, and folks like Berchelt still fighting in front of 1500 people, questions will rightfully be asked.

Farmer will look at what Golden Boy will give him to fight Joseph Diaz (DAZN has already said that the money flow is up), and that will be weighed against what Lou DiBella could get him in a good faith negotiation with Mayweather Promotions for a PBC event.

And the fighters on ESPN not actually signed to Top Rank will be curious to see what's going on with them.

And Davis will keep fighting 130/135, against whomever basically, and earn almost regardless.

250k is basically about where breakeven would be, tbh.

Anything above that is icing on the gravy (especially knowing what Davis has shown he can do at the live gate).

but hey...lets hold tank to a different standard just because we think we should...why? i dunno because hes on tv alot and making around the same money as loma...or maybe because hes associated with floyd so we hate him more....lol
                    Really strange rebuttal....okay?

EDIT - Couldn't help but notice that in those 20 fights when they were Tanks age, they weren't calling themselves "multiple time world champions" so maybe it has something to do with that? Claiming to be a 2x world champion while still claiming youre too young to face a challenge?

                    No, it's Floyd.

There's a lot that the WBA is SUPPOSED to do. Originally defending the WBA regular 5 times got you promoted to Super. Originally if you had another belt, and unified, you got upgraded to Super. They forgot those two rules.

I know what you're saying, because I expected GGG/Jacobs to get brought up. Problem is, when they made that fight they also said they were getting rid of the regular and were going to have all the regular champs fight the super champs and get rid of the regular belt. They just made a new regular champion, and forgot they said that.

And now they have the WBA Gold...and I still don't know what THAT one does.
