DAZN is the network. Golden Boy are the promoters. What did Golden Boy do to promote?
Networks do what you said- buy ads and do build up programs.

The promoter's job is to sell the fight. It's the promoter's job to get Canelo on tv and radio shows. Clearly that wasn't done or done enough. DAZN can indeed show displeasure with GBP, but they are not in the hype business nor should they be.

The Charlo Brothers can’t even fill an arena in their native Huston.
I was at the last Charlo fight in houston, the nrg arena was sold out

Perhaps that is why Canelo is not happy with oscar

My assessment is that DAZN is over $200 million in the "red" right now, and nobody will save them from bankruptcy... Therefore: Canelo will have to go back to PPV and sign either with Haymon or with Arum...
Yep, the problem is he reached his pinnacle of popularity with the ggg fights. He has lost that. He will not regain it

You’re wasting your time with that kid bro. I remember him before I blocked him. He’s obsessed with a group of black Americans YouTube journalists collectively called the “ldbc” and would mention them on here and write in Ebonics to attack black Americans. You’re literally trying to reason with a white nationalist motivated by race.

... no, man... DAZN actually can't "force" anything on Canelo...
And this is the truth, Canelo owns dazn. This is the corner dazn has backed themselves into. They overpaid Canelo because they assumed he would be as popular on their app as he was for hbo and ppv and that he not been the case. No one but his Mexican American fan base cares and it appears most of them
Don’t even care anymore. Dazn bet big on Canelo and it hasn’t paid off....hence why we have Hearn pushing YouTube personalities for subscriptions

First of all, people paid to see PBF lose, because they hated him and rightfully so as he is a classless thug. Secondly, for the most part he only did good numbers because of his opponents. Thirdly, Canelo was competing with a big UFC card.

Ultimately, PBF was only popular because of his brashness and ******ness, and people wanted home to lose badly. Conversely, Canelo, PAC, and DLH were/are popular because of their exciting fighting styles and charisma. There is really no comparison.

When you take into account monthly subscribers plus restaurants, bars, movie theaters and international subscribtions DAZN likely made a profit on this fight.
But they don't have that many subscribers. Plus their whole budget isn't just Canelo, they have to pay Joshua all of Hearn and GB fighters and Bellator. Canelo numbers are dropping but his check isn't. The other outfits are getting much more ROI

The commentators kept trying to fool us telling us GGG vs Canelo 1 was a classic, potential fight of the year, all this stuff, when in my opinion it was a lot of touch jabs and pulled punches. The second one a lot more power shots landed but no follow up when someone got hurt, and you didnt see punches thrown at full power from GGG.

I believe both were fixed, even though the second one was much more convincing. I think the media narratives, possibly even the VADA test, were done to try to hype up the fight because the PPV numbers for the first one were probably exaggerated too. Neither of these guys is Floyd. I don't think Canelo is as big a star as they say he is, so they still wanted to build up his name more with the narratives.

And the Kovalev fight in my opinion was easily the most obvious in terms of being fixed. He threw either pitty pat punches or punches aimed short at the gloves all night to my view, and then he stayed in the pocket an extra split second for Canelo to counter him repeatedly. It was the same few exchanges over and over, repeated, like a script. Everything very clean, like something rehearsed, rather than a real fight which is messy at times. The clinches from Kovalev to supposedly relieve pressure looked rehearsed, like something they added in to make it look authentic, and to make it look like Kovalev couldn't get away from Canelo's pressure, then those same clinches played into the KO punch later, a KO punch that happened right after the over/under of 10.5 rounds.

I rewatched Wilder vs Ortiz, and it looked like Ortiz was pulling punches as well once Wilder got hurt. The 12th round of the Fury fight looked fake too. He broke his fall on the way down then pretended to be unconscious.

All of this is my opinion. It's a fake sport now. Even if it's just subconsciously, fans are starting to realize it and they're tuning out.

Makes you wonder if all American sports are fixed at some level. We know european soccer is. Thought America was different but in my opinion it doesn't look that way anymore.
You’re a clueless idiot. Have you studied the sport at all? You clearly know nothing about boxing or sports in general.
