Here's a FACT for you...

Andrade was never ever offered $10M to fight Canelo and Andrade immediately agreed to fight Canelo for millions less and waited months for Canelo to sign. Canelo was not asked to take less money to fight Andrade !! in fact he was offered $5M more to fight Andrade than the $30M they offered him to fight Derevyenchenko. Canelo took Kovalev instead and I don't know what he received for that one but probably the same as Andrade or LESS because they needed to pay Kovalev $12.5m instead of doing the deal for Andrade which would have saved DAZN millions! THAT'S A FACT

In context...Hearn was referring to the paying crazy for opponents not in-house fighters like Canelo. Canelo is a money maker but Hearn had to rethink offering 120 million and 7 million to fight Joshua. As it turned out, both chose to fight lessor opponents for 10 times less money. Hearn finally realized that some fighters rather have weaker opposition.

Dazn states a couple of months ago that they are done with inflated purses and contracts. They are undoubtedly still deeply in the red with the Canelo and GGG contracts which were just absolutely ridiculous in terms of return. Canelo’s last bout wasn’t even a sell out and I’d be very intersted to hear the viewing numbers as there was zero casual buzz about this fight and not exactly a groundswell of boxing fan interest.
The difference between hbo and showtime is that showtime had access to the PBC stable which is rich in American fighters....hbo was doing business with golden boy and top rank both of which had few american fighters. It’s expressly why top rank on ESPN has been relegated to the ESPN+ app rather than ESPN and espn2

Showtime's about to be out of here within the next year or so. Once FOX made that deal with Al it was a wrap. FOX has the budget and the platform to REALLY push these guys (NFL on FOX, etc). The ratings on FOX have doubled Showtime's from last year. I'm pretty sure if Espinoza was still getting the fights he was getting he'd be singing a different tune.

Cancelled Showtime as the boxing cards were trash. Only reason to keep it was to watch Billions and I can catch it at my brothers house during Sunday football.

Offering Jacobs a two fight $24 million deal and Kovalov close to that to get them in the ring to fight Canelo can’t help!

Most guys only made around $5 million to fight Floyd with some PPv upside. But this $30 million++ 3!fight deals to get them in the ring with Canelo can’t last???

And paying 36 year old GGG $15-25 million per fight is INSANE!!!
