Un-true, Morales beat him clearly. Id like to see Pac vs. Mikey.Comment

morales won a decision, pac came back and stopped him twice! i think that kinda out do the decision win, dont you think? and before morales, pac already got wins over ATG mexicans such as barrera and a draw against marquez. yall cant just keep waiting until he finally loses to a mexican to say he got exposed. if we go by yall logic then the 20 or so mexicans that loss to pac got exposed too.Comment

The 1st fight I can totally see GGG getting it but the 2nd fight, no way. Punchstats deceiving. Canelo was the "ring general" & landed the cleaner more effective punching.Nelo got outlanded by 30 punches...8-3-1 in rounds...and that was just fight 2 lol...fight 1 was an even greater disparity...how is that dominance lol...you could make a case Canelo was in the fight...tbh I don't really see the argument that he can get to 6 rounds in either fight...and to say he dominated, I mean wut lol
Canelo made ggg fight a Canelo fight the 2nd time. GGG won a few rds but close rds have to go to 1 making it his fight.Comment

No doubt Pacs a beast and very true Pac got revenge for his loss but it doesnt erase it. And idk who says Pac got exposed, I dont. I think he got ktfo after fighting a guy for the 4th time. Some1 was gonna get KO'd. I thought Pac won their 1st fight, i thought the second was a draw, i thought Marquez won the 3rd fight, and we know how the 4th went.morales won a decision, pac came back and stopped him twice! i think that kinda out do the decision win, dont you think? and before morales, pac already got wins over ATG mexicans such as barrera and a draw against marquez. yall cant just keep waiting until he finally loses to a mexican to say he got exposed. if we go by yall logic then the 20 or so mexicans that loss to pac got exposed too.Comment

the thread is about mexicans beating the boogeymen! then the same TS makes another thread about a mexican will be the one to exposed the japanese fighter. but the TS failed to mention that a lot of ATGs mexicans also got beat by black fighters, asian fighters, euro, etc.No doubt Pacs a beast and very true Pac got revenge for his loss but it doesnt erase it. I think Canelo improved in fight 2...and he did some impressive stuff in fight 1 anyway...but for me fight 2 was similar to fight 1...Canelo wasn't active enough in most rounds to really take the fight...GGG is so active that he won a lot of rounds based on his activity/when he landed the best shot or shots of the round. The 1st fight I can totally see GGG getting it but the 2nd fight, no way. Punchstats deceiving. Canelo was the "ring general" & landed the cleaner more effective punching.

I think close rounds, unless they are close but clear, you more or less have to split...otherwise you have a situation where you can give one guy like 7 close rounds...yeah I just can't think of one round for Nelo where he landed the best shots and also was outworking GGG...just didn't have any obvious rounds when I watch those fights.
They were good fights though, some good action.Comment

I think it has a lot to do with how GGG was sold to the public by HBO and his fans. This big bad boogeyman who was devouring his opponents, and on that night he got unmasked and turns out he wasn't so scary after all. Canelo stood his ground and had GGG on his backfoot, backing up all night. It's a strange phenomenum for sure. Most people saw a very close fight whichever way they scored it, certainly we've seen far more one sided fights and far worse injuries on fighters - almost every week in fact - yet more often than not the loser is praised for his gritty performance or whatever rather than being subject to epithets like emasculation or humiliation. I'm genuinely curious what makes people think that way, cos I just saw two professional fighters doing their job.
Maybe some folk were just more emotionally invested in this fight than others for some reason. That's kinda what I'm getting at though - what makes one dude just see a regular close fight and another dude see an 'emasculation'?
You're probably right there was a lot of built up animosity between the fan bases. Don't forget that most people predicted Canelo would get knocked out before the 6th round in the 1st fight and GGG was still a favorite in the 2nd.
For the record I had that fight scored a bit wider than most 116-112, Canelo was landing the more effective punches throughout the fight.Comment
