    Good Middlweight mythical matchups thread.

I'd like to see other people's responses.

    I'm torn on GGG/Hopkins

I think Hagler beats Hopkins because he was just too strong, too versatile, too smart, too vicious, and just a mean MFer who would not let Hopkins grab him or play mind games with him, and had a chin that Hopkins couldn't crack.

Ward's too big & strong for Canelo and unlike Kovalev would not gas out. Plus, Ward would frustrate Canelo with his infighting that NSB would call cheating.

Not sure about Froch vs. Canelo/GGG

But GGG would maul Trinidad at 160. Too big, too strong, and would kill him with that jab.

          Good thread.

Great fight - I think GGG gets it done though...too active, too strong, too relentless...and can't be hurt...can't see how BHop can keep him off for 12 rounds and neutralize him....GGG UD.

Hopkins...Hagler struggled against guys who could box and move and take a shot...Hopkins would frustrate him and make it ugly for a UD...not to mention that Hagler would probably fight below 160 if he fought today...Hagler would have to be MUCH better than he was vs Watts to win, as Hopkins could employ that gameplan to get the W I think...hit and hold...hit and hold....Hopkins UD

Depends on what Ward is able to get away with tbh...would honestly be a nip and tuck fight I think...with not much action...would probably be a pretty shi.tty fight...like Lara vs Canelo in a way.

Would be an interesting fight...can Canelo avoid the big shot from Froch...he should outbox him all day long...Canelo MD/UD

Great fight...how aggressive would GGG be against the power of Froch...I think it would probably be an incredible fight...GGG winning on activity but would probably have been a war...GGG UD.

GGG...I think Tito was too small probably for that...would have probably just gotten run over....GGG TKO.

Not hating on Bhop...but I never really saw what he did that was overly impressive at MW...I mean his best wins were over 2 great little guys...and that was about it

Well I’d have to go back and look at his MW fights on boxrec... overall, personally, I think he’s up there with Mayweather Jr. and the like.

He was very, very hard to hit cleanly and he had a way of frustrating fighters who were much more fearsome than he.

He also had an incredibly long prime and didn’t fade like others of his generation (for example Roy Jones, Jr and Oscar de la Hoya).

Because of these established facts, I think he is very similar to Floyd, but with a different body type and more risk-taking in his matchups.

It’s a bit sad he doesn’t get mentioned as TBE on these forums, which in my opinion he’s not the best of all time, but definitely has more rights to that title than Mayweather does, who although a GREAT boxer, his perfect record is at least partially down to great career management and risk minimization.
