    Gennady’s Power

    Was Gennady’s power overrated?

Or did he slip a lot around the Jacobs and first Canelo fights?

He dropped Jacob's and Canelo has a great chin. What exactly are you trying to find out here? He also dropped Derevyanchenko in the last fight.
I'm not positive but Canelo may be the only dude he hasn't dropped?

I’m a fan of Golovkin, heading into the first Canelo fight I actually liked them both a lot, but my opinion of Canelo changed a bit after the clenbuterol situation.

I thought if Golovkin landed clean he’d put Canelo out. Canelo took some of his best shots in both fights and said that GGG’s power wasn’t anything remarkable if I remember correctly.

I was a bit awed by GGG power (just look at the Lamont Peterson or Ian Macklin fights and you’ll remember what I mean); he just doesn’t seem that dominant anymore. I’m just wondering if his opponents really are that much better or if he slipped a bit. I started thinking on those lines after the Inoue fight since he didn’t look quite as awesomely powerful against the solid Donaire as he has in his previous fights.

You made a fair point though, thanks for answering my post

Once he lost his speed/snap in his punches, it wasn't quite the same power. He still has naturally heavy hands, but the power that he had when he was younger was lost when he started hitting mid 30's. Watch him when he was younger and see how much more snap he had on his punches. It was constantly cutting and injuring guys.

That makes sense, I agree with you

I’m still a fan, but something definitely seems different.
