Why isn’t Deontay on most P4P lists?

Rightly or wrongly one of the qualifications with being P4P discussed it seems is you gotta pass some level of the eye test. Thats why boxers usually make up more of the list than punchers/KO artists I feel like also.

And Wilder looks pretty f#cking wonky out there so idk that hes even seen as P4P eligible to most cats.

Why, in your opinion, does he still fail to get recognized in this fashion for his many exploits in the ring and contributions to the great sport of Boxing?

He has an undefeated record, he arguably could have gotten the TKO win against Fury, who is a good boxer in my opinion, and he won a war with Luis Ortiz, a great boxer who is better than Fury and whom everyone avoids.

I am not a Wilder fanboy but seriously what does this man still have to do to get the recognition he deserves?
Whilst I think it’s very impressive that Wilder is able to defeat men far heavier than him, his skill level and technique is simply not high enough to be on a P4P list. His resume is not deep enough and most people feel he lost to Fury. (Me included)

He doesnt belong in it, i didnt believe any Heavyweight belonged in it until Usyk moved up. None of them are good enough, this isnt an anti Wilder thing. His power is insane but as far as im concerned he relies on it to get his wins, ive seen him get out boxed by the less than the best. All the names in most peoples top 10 would box circles around Wilder or knock him out before he got one of his bombs off.

At Heavy his power and speed is his equalizer. But P4P hes being compared to much technically higher quality fighters than can be found in the heavyweight division. But even then you couldnt truly write him off, with that power it really does only take 1 clean big right. His 1 punch power is up there P4P thats for sure.

Because his boxing technique is ugly and he relies on landing a power shot to win the fight. He was outboxed by Fury and objectively lost that fight. Also, he's usually down on the cards when he wins by KO.

Parker — Parker has a powerful chin, but he has a much shorter reach than Deontay. I expect he would fight well but take several brutal knockdowns mid-rounds and the ref waves it off, or his corner throws in the towel. I think it would look very similar to Wilder’s fight with Johann Duhaupas. My belief is that Deontay gets the win via RTD.

Whyte — he’s good, maybe a little too good (steroids — ahem), but Wilder has the reach and chin to deal with whatever he brings. I have Deontay by UD.

Joshua — we saw what happened in his fight with Ruiz. Do you really think AJ can handle Wilder’s power? I have Deontay by second-round KO.

Ruiz Jr. — don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE this guy, but he likely has some good moments before taking too much damage. Ever the gentleman, I can just imagine a bruised and bloodied sunglasses-wearing Andy giving props to Wilder after the fight at the press conference. Deontay by 9th round KO.

Povetkin — not the best boxer at heavyweight by a long shot, he may get in a few good left hooks that stagger Wilder and make things interesting. But Wilder probably puts him away in the mid to late rounds. Deontay by 7th round KO.

Chisora — Del Boy is a like able guy but I have a bad feeling this one doesn’t end well for him. Deontay by brutal 6th round KO.

Miller — I think this would be an AWESOME matchup because they both have loud and brash personalities. I think Miller takes his best shots surprisingly well, but ends up getting the fight waved off while still on his feet due to cuts from Wilder’s punches. Deontay by 11th round TKO.

Pulev — I think Pulev is a tough leathery old Slav and can take Wilder’s power as well as anyone, but I think he goes down several times mid to late rounds and gets counted out while sitting on the canvas on the third or fourth one, much like what we saw in the first Ortiz fight. Deontay by 7th round KO.

Fury — Fury hasn’t looked as good since his first fight with Wilder. I like him, and it saddens me to say it but I think that second knockdown from Wilder took his soul a little bit. I think Wilder sparks him out mid-rounds in their rematch. Deontay by 5th round KO.

Hunter — you know; that’s a good opponent for him I didn’t even think about. I honestly need to watch more of his fights before I make a prediction.

By the way, not trying to be argumentative, but just wrote all this out to back my point that I think most of these guys end up losing if they face Wilder, although some would fare better than others. Not to mention, Deontay is already into his mid-thirties and could slip at any time. Only time will tell, I guess!

By the way, I have a gut feeling an older Wilder facing Daniel Dubois gets beat in dramatic fashion. That would be a fun matchup to see several years down the road.
What use is any of that? That actually highlights the problem. You are having to say Wilder WOULD to all of those names. And if you added 1 of the Klitchko's in there too. If he had gone through even some of those names in typical devastating fashion we could get somewhere with considering him for a P4P list.

who has he beat? same goes for fury, but at least fury has klitschko. the only hw that deserves to be in the top 10 is aj, despite his loss to ruiz. if he beats ruiz he is back in the top 10 for sure. trying to think if fury/wilder deserve to be in the top 10 even with a win over the other...im thinking MAYBE, but my instinct says no.

because he gives away too many rounds and alot of the time his technique isnt conventional
