What should Luiz Ortiz do in the rematch to be victorious?

I thought Ortiz was winning the fight. I had him up on the scorecards coming into the 10th round. I mean he has the tools to win but he couldn't find a way to stop being clipped clean by Wilder's big right hand. Should he approach the rematch with a different game plan?

If you were in Ortiz corner what adjustments would you like him to make?

Meh, Ortiz was winning the fight, but that was mostly due to Wilder's unwillingness to throw any punches the first five rounds. Once Wilder started fighting back it was his fight. However, once Wilder started fighting back, Ortiz was able to hurt him with a counter punch. That's really his best hope. Counter some of the sloppy **** Wilder likes to throw.

Say what you will about the technical disadvantages Wilder may have, but he comes in shape. Wilder can employ the same game plan as the first fight, which is to not do anything the first half of the fight while the old man gets tired just from being in there and then pounce on him when he does. Ortiz's stamina won't have gotten any better as he's aged.

he has a good puncher's chance. He's relatively still pretty quick for a HW. He's left handed.

just like in the first fight when he stunned Wilder, if any of those follow-up shots landed, he might've won.

However for every one of his good puncher's chances, Wilder has 4 or 5. Wilder punchers harder, faster and with a stronger engine late.

Hurt Wilder early and stay on him until he knocks him out. That is possible but unlikely. I think Wilder can make more changes and improve his performance from the first fight more than Ortiz can. I think Wilder wins by KO early without getting badly hurt this time.

Ortiz was winning the fight when he was moving, only when he slowed his feet it didn't allow him to get off the body attacks he was able to keep Wilder off balance with.

Ortiz hurt wilder when he was coming forward, better timed left hands early could be the thing here ,one thing Otiz cant do is just stand in front of wilder and wait, hes got to maintain off center angles bc wilder is very limited otherwise,he relies on simple one /twos straight on.

I think if Ortiz wasn't caught in the 5th it may have ended a lot different,Ortiz must keep the double /triple jabs in wilders face while keeping his chin tucked .he could win the fight if he doesnt get knocked down at least off the score cards ? lol

In the end Ortiz has a long layoff of 8/9 months out of the ring compared to active wilder ,so ? This is either going to hurt Ortiz or help him this time .He has a lot of footage since and he knows being a southpaw is able to cause problems vs a low volume puncher if he contriols wilders lead hand at least half way through the fight and avoid any knockdown this will let him avoid any potential right hand ending punch .

Improve his timing on the shots and find a way to nullify that right hand. Easier said than done plus his biggest disadvantage in this fight is father time which cannot be Prepared adjusted.

He needs to try and get wilder out early. He’s old and will fade as the fight goes on. Ortiz has shown in recent fights he only has one gear and can’t go through them anymore. That’ll be his undoing.

I think it depends on Wilder though and If Wilder lets his hands go early. I actually see a similar kind of fight if Wilder starts slow. We have seen Wilders punch output gets pretty low against intelligent fighters. I think Wilder stops him at any point before the 8th round really, could be earlier than last time.
