When that happens, you go back down and take on a lesser guy or two.

    That's how it works.

I never said 'Roy was back' but obviously you get your panties in one tight ass twist when some RJJ fanboy says that...so what does that say of you?

    Chill out.
No, I understand that he needs a "tune-up" fight.

However, how can people honestly start praising him for a decision win over a bum?

I could slightly understand if it was a ko or tko or even an impressive decision, but it wasn't.

So, I think if RJJ has the same mindset of his nut huggers and goes against better opposition, we'll see him out on his ass again not knowing where he is.

Do you want to see him like that?

I really think he needs to retire.

He's gotten a win and now he can say he went out with a win.

I agree though , he "safely" outpointed a paper champion and looked semi impressive in doing so but against any top 3 Light heavy he will get hurt. All you have to do these days is connect and Chances are Roy will fall like a tree. Just follow the Glen Johnson blueprint...just keep throwing because Roy doesnt really want to fight.
      Exactly my point.

Yet another person who sees what I'm saying here.

The way RJJ fought this bum and decisioned him was a joke.

How anyone can say that "he's back" or that he should face and would be able to win against better opposition is a mystery to me.

I think that deep down they have some kind of sick desire to see their hero seriously hurt and embarrassed.

Shouldn't you be off somewhere playing apologist for Floyd?

It seems as though you love fighters who talk a lot of **** for fighting mostly bums and ducking people as if it was second nature to them.

Also, the "hating" comments are really lame.

If that's all you can say, you really should go back to sucking off Floyd.

You clearly have no idea what your talking about. Read my posts about Floyd and then tell me im delusional.
You started a thread simply to bash Roy Jones after a solid comeback win.

I've been reading this forum for the past couple of days, and there are some very knowledgable people in here, and I thought I would give my 2 cents on this subject (not like anyone will care).

Let me start by saying that I'm a huge RJJ fan. I'm from Pcola and many of my friends and I have enjoyed watching Roy fight over the years.

I have to agree somewhat with both sides in this thread. Prince Badi was a joke. He won the first round (in my opinion) and then did not do anything for the rest of the fight. I understand that he's a top 10 guy, but I don't think that necessarily says much for the division right now. He was terrible, and I don't really believe anybody watched the fight if they thought he was a good opponent.

However, everyone knew this was just a "tune-up" fight for Roy. He needed to get his confidence back, and this fight allowed him to do that. He had a few moments in the fight, but he's still not the Roy that I used to watch back in the day. It was actually sort of sad to watch, because it was a garbage PPV. The fights were somewhat entertaining, but it was a HUGE step down in class and quality from HBO and SHO boxing. I hate to see Roy like this. He was at one point one of the most entertaining boxers to watch, and his fight tonight was not entertaining.

He's not going to retire after this fight, but I think he needs to take one or two more fights like this before he steps into the ring with some real competition again. I think he may have it in him (he is RJJ), but I'm afraid age has caught up to him.

              Take care.

                Solid?

Getting a boring decision over a bum is solid?

Wow.. You do have some problems.

What if Margarito had done the same?

Would you be making the same comments for him as you and others are making for RJJ?

Who did you pick to win the fight beforehand?
And why do you get off disrespecting fighters???

I agree, RJJ is one of the best athlets to ever put on gloves, why take a risk against a bum? He should retire while he's in good health.

I can't wait till he faces someone who isn't a bum and he's floored again and retires.
