How can people be so high on Canelo and so low on GGG?

go ahead and review canelos resume.

    GGG has fought nobody.
lemuiex was like a tim bradley.
Yeah just referenced some of Canelo's top wins...not sure how anyone can really tout some of them while downing GGG's...just doesn't stack up from my view...Canelo catching big names not at their best, and even then not really impressing...is not better imo than GGG's dominant wins over prime live MWs like Lemieux, Murray, Monroe etc.

As they showed (imo) when they fought...GGG even at 35+ was just a level or so above Nelo...so it makes sense to me that his performances in his fights were a bit better/more dominant overall than Canelo's...against pretty similar opposition.

I don't see the case where Canelo's top 10 wins/performances are really any better at all than GGG's...I made a thread on it before and yeah I've looked into it and just don't really buy into the hype on that for Nelo...he is great but touting his wins/resume way above GGG is just kind of seeing what you want to see/believe imo.

      .
      Uh... PRESENT TENSE.

Canelo is 29...PRIME..more fights to come.

      GGG is 37...

just because nobody's really raving about GGG anymore doesn't mean you should pretend that people aren't interested to see Canelo vs other Champions in the years to come. Patience is a virtue

When the two times they fought, almost everyone acknowledges that GGG was probably the better man the first night, and even the 2nd night Canelo won 7-5 7-5 6-6 on the cards...literally the smallest margin he could have won by...if one round on one of those 7-5 cards is different, we have a draw...and the fight was in Vegas where we can all agree Canelo gets good cards, I think.

I have those 2 fights about as wide as I've seen, in favor of GGG...8-4 for both, can maybe see 5 rounds for Canelo in fight 2 but honestly just feel he got outworked both fights pretty heavily and struggled to win any clear rounds due to GGG's workrate and Canelo's lack of extremely damaging/hurtful shots that would give him a clear round.

And even then, how can I really hate on Canelo? He gave GGG two tough fights, even if felt GGG was a level or so above in both...if I think Canelo sucks then GGG wouldn't be too far behind lol.

Reading posts on here big upping Canelo and vigilantly downing GGG on every Canelo/GGG post or thread, I mean it makes 0 sense to me...just hard to take some of you guys seriously really...I don't know if you guys are really young or something but yeah the lack of logic on some of these threads is startling.
        Exactly this... Great post.

I’m a big GGG fan, travelled over to Vegas for both the Canelo fights but I still have a lot of respect for Canelo who unquestionably has the best resume in boxing atm (aside from Pacquiao.)

The guys who rate one and not the other are just sad fanboys tbh.

Bro...people right now are saying that Canelo has far exceeded GGG...which I don't personally agree with but I think an argument can be made for the other side that Canelo resume is better than GGG's...again I don't see it that way but it is a fair argument.

And here's the main point of the thread - that despite them having 2 competitive fights...that somehow GGG is a bum and Canelo is the GOAT...it makes 0 sense lol.

Canelo beating Golovkin is why I rate him so high. Golovkin may be on the superslide, but the guy was a true beast. Just rewatch the last Golovkin-Canelo fight to see how much more fundamentally sound and skilled than Kovalev he is. Kovalev in his age is paying for his non-existent defense and fundamental flaws.
