  • Comments Thread For: Dana White: Fury Attempting UFC Run Would Not End Well

UFC President Dana White believes heavyweight contender Tyson Fury would get seriously hurt if he attempted to make a run in Mixed Martial Arts - especially in the UFC. Last month, Fury made his debut in pro wrestling - when he entered the ring in Saudi Arabia to win a match against WWE superstar Braun Strowman by knockout.

    agreed

I agree with Dana White, the time it would take to learn how to become a top flight MMA fighter is a serious commitment and would be throwing to the side all of the big $ fights that wait for him in the boxing world

Dana White's stable of "talent" is garbage currently. The clips that the UFC posts on social media are cringeworthy. For as big as the sport has gotten it still has very few premiere athletes. He's blowing smoke for the most part but I agree Fury is not the right boxer to think about transitioning.

Hmm I'd rather watch Tyson very fight badr hari Rico verhoven or allistair overeem in kickboxing. Mma doesn't work well for boxers and boxing doesn't work well for mma unless it's somebody with a very sound kickboxing background like say Tyron Spong neiky holzken Chris algerie Dillion whyte. Only UFC fighter I see being contender successful in boxing is Jorge masdival or Stipe miocic (stipes a golden glove winner who can take shots) but both are 34 n older so 2 yrs of training hard before going theyre past there prime on 90% of fighters for the pacquiaos is a rarity n that's attributed to good genes for pacquiao and Mayweather were head and shoulders above everyone in there prime that once they aged they're neck n neck with the elite of the division. Unless fury wants cte stay away from ngannou and mma instead of worrying about just hands we have to worry about kicks knees elbows grappling submissions so it's alot more ways for ko and setting up attacks plus running on a pedal doesn't work in kickboxing or mma well leg kick your front leg til it's too hard to put your weight on so you have hard time sitting on shots and moving around then we'll go in for the kill or mix it up body shots then head attacks Plus since boxers Don't have conditioned legs a leg kick to them it'll only take several before they can't move and be stationary then boom sitting duck for up to 8 forms of strikes before ko or they'll just quit cause unconditioned leg vs conditioned leg your bound to have a leg fracture after a CPL kicks

As long as Fury doesn’t fight Stipe or Cormier, he’s got a chance to win in the UFC heavyweight division. Most of the other guys aren’t great grapplers and try to stand and ****, he’s got a good chance to win against dudes like Derrick Lewis, Ngannou, and definitely Greg Hardy.

Dana White really wants to say “Please come to UFC so we can make $$$”. Fury making $$$ in wrestling, why not UFC where people will tune in to see crazy man Fury.

Watch Ngannou vs Derrick Lewis then tell me why. Both of those dudes hit really hard but so does Wilder, who is a more effective puncher because a boxing stance allows for better generation of punching power.
