Cotto (35 years old) had already been in many wars, in never was same after the Margarito fight.

Kovalev (36 years old) Old, washed up, maybe has 1 fight in him left, he may retire now, who knows.

GGG (37 years old) old, alot slower, slow reflexes, due to his age. They intentionally waited GGG out.

Mosley (41 years old) 41 years old speaks for itself.

He was schooled and walked down at times against a 36 year old smaller guy, Floyd Mayweather.

        He lost to Lara.

Like Cmon now, If anything Canelo has the most controversial cherrypicked resume in boxing right now.
Stop it, Nelo beat Pvssy-G twice & ya'll started that "he's old" excuse when Jacobs beat Pvssy-G.

Nelo ALSO beat Lara. He had Lara on his bike when them body shots were hitting him

Not exactly, Im not even a big GGG fan, I can care less about him. The last GGG fight I think he looked good was against David Lemieux.Dominic wade was a bum, he didnt look impressive against kell brook, in fact kell brook hurt him. by time the Jacobs fight happened it really confirmed what we thought, and that was that GGG was no longer at his peak. So then Canelo fights him, 1st fight GGG won, 2nd fight Canelo beat the ***** out of the old man.

Lara outboxed him for 12rds straight, canelo missing widly the entire fight, and looking desperate and one demenional.

Joel Casamayor, Rocky Juarez, Orlando Salido, Manuel Madina and Derrick Gainer are all good/great, boxers/ boxer punchers.

Pac Man isn't exactly the easiest "come forward guy" to counter either, the prime version of Pac that Marquez went to battle with had some of the most complex footwork and body/head movement you'll see in boxing, combine with his non stop pressure. I mean, the man is still boxing at a high level in his 40s despite fighting world class level oppositions for around decades now, he wasn't very easy to hit.

What does Canelo have anything to do with this? This isn't a Canelo thread? Is the topic Marquez or Canelo? Why did you mention Canelo's name?

But since you mentioned Cotto as part of your "elite" list, Canelo did beat Trout, who did beat Cotto, and per your list, if Trout beat an "elite" Cotto, then Trout should be considered "elite" as well, but again, this isn't about Canelo, it's about Marquez.

Split Decision and WAR with Timothy Bradley.

Canelo has never been in the ring with the level of talent that marquez opposition has possessed.
                  Mayweather?????????

Yeah that worked out well for him. I don't think he even won a single round.
