Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Garcia Has Potential To Become Face Of Boxing

LAS VEGAS In some ways, Ryan Garcia reminds Oscar De La Hoya of himself when he was Garcia's age. De La Hoya had a lot of doubters, too, in part due to his good looks, disproportionately female fan base and complete confidence. The 46-year-old De La Hoya, whose company promotes Garcia, considers Garcia's first-round knockout of Romero Duno the first significant step in the polarizing prospect proving himself to skeptics that think he is an overhyped fighter benefitting from his significant social media following.

Garcia shoud'nt even be in the discussion right now. Shakur Stevenson is my favorite out of the three.

Duno's team picked the worst game plan for the fight. We didn't really see a fight

Watched the replay several times and it barely grazed him above the ear. I wonder how much Oscar De La Coca paid Duno to take a dive?

People who suspect Kovalev took a dive on Saturday are ridiculous, people who think duno took a dive on Saturday may be on to something. The ko looked super shady.

Duno beat Chimpa Gonzalez who was at the time considered one of GB's hot prospects and was also undefeated like Garcia so he's far from an uber driver. Trust if the money is right some are willing to take a loss which unfortunately was the case with Duno

Shakur goes the distance with a c level guy yet Garcia destroys a better fighter in 1 rd
