Comments Thread For: Canelo: If Golovkin Trilogy Represents Business - Why Not?

Canelo Alvarez Alvarez is open to the idea of a trilogy fight with Gennady Golovkin - if it makes financial sense. DAZN, who signed Canelo to an eleven fight deal in 2018, had pushed a for a Golovkin fight in September - but the Mexican superstar rejected that idea and instead made a decision to move up by two weight classes to light heavyweight, to pursue a fight with WBO world champion Sergey Kovalev.

of course it makes business sense to alvarez and golden boy and hearn. ggg is way past it and i don't think he'll lay down like kov. i admit ginger is an excellent fighter, but the kov/alvarez fight was highly suspect and very disappointing.$365,000,000.00 talks BIG.

Yeah Canelo is full of it. The fight was available but he defied DAZN and avoided Golovkin. Now after Golovkin looked very vulnerable against Derevyanchenko suddenly it makes fianancial sense. Canelo is a fraud. I was willing to give him credit if he beat Kovalev with no restrictions but we all know now the truth about the restrictions.

Just so you guys know, accurately, Canelo was asked yet again by Mannix. Canelo did not say it makes business sense, the usual GBP translator said this in ring. What Canelo said, again, if “they” (DAZN) offer something lucrative, “present” or in Spanish “ofresen.” Canelo in the same interview with Mannix and the post fight press conference, Canelo states, “I’ve done 24 rounds with GGG and they told me to run it back and I beat him. Its no longer a challenge for me, but if they insist, (DAZN) has to give me something lucrative.

This is common sense Canelo is in legal review about his contract with DAZN and GBP.

The thread title is wrong. Just an FYi

Last night was so embarrassing for boxing. Boxing is getting trashed and clowned on nearly every app you can think of. DAZN needs to hurry up and move on from boxing. Trash quality and trash announcers like Mannix not to mention it was a boring fight. There’s never been a negative reaction this strong after a Mayweather fight. He’d never wait for the UFC either. What a smack in the face to Canelo Kov and all of boxing fans

Canelo is consistent in what he says. He no longer sees Golovkin as a challenge for him as they have already gone at it for 24 rounds.

But if people keep asking him for it and there is good business to be made then why not.

                It's GGG's funeral.

Enough of fighting the senior circuit. Canelo would be lame to go back on his word now because ggg looked like s*** his last fight and now canelo thinks he can finally be beaten convincingly.

What other names would satisfy Canelo huge contract. I am sure they will come again with a short list and GGG will be included.
