    Canelo and Dwight Muhammad Qawi

If Canelo incorporates some of Dwight Muhammad Qawi's defensive moves he beats Kovalev tomorrow. Qawi's has the template to beat taller fighters. His fights against a prime Spinks and Holyfield are epic

When you say "fight against a prime Spinks" I really hope you mean his loss to Michael, and not his win over Leon lmfao

The problem is that Qawi would step in and close the distance on his opponents' punches, while Canelo on those same punches usually plants his feet and uses the head movement to evade and counter them.

There is a big difference between them and that is workrate. Qawi could throw almost a thousand punches in a 12 round fight while Canelo is hard pressed to throw half that many punches in a 12 round fight.

yes. I'm referring to his loss to a prime Michael Spinks, not his victory over a shot Leon. He showed great skills in that loss. He was giving up youth, height and reach against Spinks and did reasonably well. Holyfield has said that Qawi was his most difficult fight.

good point. But he may only need 12 hard shots to the body per round
