How much more did he make? Cause not only could he have beaten Canelo for the IBF but also the WBC and the WBA. I could of sworn it was reported he made the same amount, but I could be wrong. Edit: ESPN reported Derev made 5 mil

Gennady Golovkin preferred a third bout with Canelo Alvarez but now gets a shot at the vacant IBF middleweight world title when he takes on Sergiy Derevyanchenko Oct. 5.

Derevyanchenko got paid less for fighting ggg ......quit hating
Oh and fyi ggg ducked derevyanchenko first to fight vanes
And got stripped of the ibf title

      Foh with that nonsense
I was right there with you until the bolded part. Please stop repeating that lie. He did not duck Sergei D to fight Vanes. He fought Vanes because HBO only offered 1 million for the fight and GGG wanted to fight on that date to keep his schedule for the planned Canelo rematch in September. Sergei D turned down 250k to fight Andrade and as the mandatory challenger he had no reason to settle for less to fight GGG on short notice.

And you do the same think to GGG while sucking Canelo's D for free.

Why would Derevyanchenko take $5.5 million to fight Canelo when he was entitled to a 35% split at purse bid?

35% of the total pot would have probably $15 million.

Why would he take $5.5 million when he would get the same amount for fighting GGG?

GGG is older and therefore an easier fight. It’s the same money, which is insane considering Canelo’s drawing power compared to GGG’s. And if he had beaten GGG, there would have been a demand for a Canelo fight which would have netted Derevyanchenko an insane amount of money.

And despite all that, Derevyanchenko didn’t even force a purse bid. He just asked for $7 million, which is completely reasonable considering GGG was going to give him $5.5 million.

Canelo’s team walked away from the fight and the IBF title. When GGG did the exact same thing, you all said he ducked Derevyanchenko. The only difference is GGG did that to take a fight with Canelo Alvarez for a 45% purse split instead of fighting a 36 year old who’s shot.

Now GGG is fighting a mandatory, something Alvarez hasn’t done in 8 years and the same Canelo fans are saying GGG is avoiding Andrade. This is, despite the fact that Andrade and Canelo have been in the same weight class for 9 years and never fought. And almost every year it would have been a major unification fight.

          Enjoy your hypocrisy!

            Derevyanchenko would knock Kovalev out.

Interesting you should bring age up. Old GGG beat a prime young Canelo twice in most viewers opinion. If a 35 year old boxer can beat a 28 year old boxer any logical boxing fan would think the older boxer was the better fighter of the two. Turn it around and Make GGG 28 years old and make Canelo 36 years old and GGG would slaughter him. It wouldn't even be a close fight. Canelo will be completely done long before he is 35 years old.

It says he was paid more than $5million for GGG in that ESPN report. What I read was that he turned down $5million for Canelo, and ended up getting $5.5million for GGG.

quit talking nonsense ggg elected to fight vanes as a late replacement instead of his mandatory derevyanchenko the ibf told him he had to fight derevyanchenko in 90 days after vanes and ggg refused so they stripped him of the belt

Andre Ward can’t punch. He knocked Kovalev out.

Eleider Alvarez can’t punch. He knocked Kovalev out.

Anthony Yarde has no amateur experience and only 18 pro fights. Kovalev’s trainer admits he almost stopped the fight.

Any top five fighter 160-200 would knock Kovalev out.
