Against similar comp in their pro careers, GGG has never been dropped and never really hurt...Kov has...I think that says a lot....as another poster pointed out, they have different defensive strategies on some levels...GGG tends to cover up and absorb shots so he can hold ring position etc...Kovalev is more traditional and I think he makes himself more vulnerable at times by opening up when maybe he shouldn't.

Have you never watched a GGG fight because if you had you would know that he tends to block, parry and roll with punches.
He stands his ground most of the time that's why he can get off after they have un-loaded on him.
It's difficult in real time to see the GGG's defence cause it looks like he's getting hit.
He maybe getting hit but most times it's gloves, arms and shoulders.
You sound ****** saying GGG has no defence.

Yarde landed a couple good left hooks to the body one round and kovalev looked ready to fold up...it wasn’t even a sustained attack. There’s definitely a vulnerability there.

Golovkin isn't flashy with his defense, that's why. Knowing distance and simple blocking/parrying punches saves a lot more energy. I initially thought he lost against Derev, but watching it back, he blocked a lot of shots. What I thought was effective body work was him bending over to catch the shots on his arms (at least the ones that weren't low, which were a **** ton).

I agree, Kovalev is faster and has better feet than GGG. But with that being said, GGG does defend his body better takes a better shot, and has a better inside game

Sanchez trained both Kovalev and GGG for a while and said GGG was superior to Kovalev on both offense and defense and he said that after he was no longer GGG's trainer. You are just trying to build up Kovalev to make a Canelo win better than it is. Canel is a 4 to 1 favorite to beat Kovalev but only even money against GGG. The bookies know who the better fighter is.
              Spot on !!

GGG clearly better than Kovalev. Bookies know who is huge favourite in this fight, despite I want ginger drug fraud to get KOed I know it is impossible at this point of Kova career.. I will give clenelo all credit in the world if he stays in light heavyweight and fights Beterbiev or Bivol. But unfortunately I will never happen

a lot of people talking like canelo will be able to get to kov's body. but golovkin fought more conservatively than usual, threw less body punches, and was able to defend/take Canelo's body shots. kov is weak to the body but by following similar tactics can he not defend just as well?
... Golovkin is far better -- he was never floored in his whole career...
