Canelo deserves credit for beating GGG in rematch, fights with Lara. Jacobs etc.

But lets not kiss his ass and ignore details surrounding some of his fights,

    It goes both ways
Indeed. He fought guys with more experience than him that were out of their prime like Mosley, Baldomir, Cintron, etc but he did fight some prime fighter in the likes of Lara, Trout, Kirkland, etc.

I know he has the PED thing but he gets way too much hate and others just defend him to death.

I do like the PED thing but I am fine with him.

      Truth!

Thats why they called him El Mata Viejos!

And he only gets KOs on damaged goods. Never in the big fights.

Canelo fights are boring and the corruption that follows him is a dealbreaker.

I agree Kovalev is at the end of his career. But who knows may be he has one more good fight for him. He has all the advantage in this fight except the age...

Its a bit on the nose really...but yeah, how can anyone argue with this? It seems to be Canelo's strategy? Top level fighter in his prime? No, thank you. Top level fighter over 35 and past it - bring me the challenge, I want to build legacy.

He did miscalculate with GGG though

Morales says what real boxing fans know, but groupies will call him a hater. Morales is what I considered to be the epitomy of what boxing /Mexican boxing should be. Fought the best, always came to fight (except that 1 time pac weight drained him) and hated his opponents with a passion.

I don’t understand the narrative that Canelo fights top guys when they’re old.

It’s like did you want Canelo to be born earlier or something?

Those guys like Mayweather, Mosley, Cotto, Golovkin are 8+ years older than Canelo so they’d never have been able to fight Canelo when they were in their prime because Canelo would be 15-22 years old lmao. Not to mention their divisions didn’t really match up at earlier ages either.

Boxing is dead because of Canelo hating twats that are the same ilk that degrades a fighter who fights almost nothing but champions at multiple weights

I challenge all the haters to tell me who isn't a cherry picker in all of boxing in the last 20 yrs & why they "faced champions in their prime, unlike canelo". And then lets hear this all star list of names & ages when they beat them compared to Nelos. Of course you won't find any fighter who fits that bs criteria & likely has a bunch of asterisk wins & likely losses too.And lets include morales in that list also(Morales has 2 names on his resume that equate at that time to what trout was when nelo fought him,& a bunch of losses;& only floyd likely compares to nelos resume)
I challenge you to find 1 fighter who has made his name by fighting more fighters that were 35 and older as Canelo has. And to cristisize morales record just proves your level of groupie love. The dude has 6 fights with prime versions of pac and Barrera alone. That surpasses the level of comp Canelo has faced by far. And that's not even counting his fights against Kevin Kelly, maidana and Danny Garcia. Ironically he's a fighter that perfectly fits your question of who is a fighter that isn't a cherry picker. If there was a fight that didn't happen with him, it's because the other guy didn't want smoke (like Hamed) not him. Can you same the same about Canelo?
