I called this after the 1st GGG fight. Nelo hasn't been happy with Golden boy and has been progressively more vocal about it.

I think that $300mill deal DAZN made is what really set things ablaze. You can't tell me Oscar didn't get a good piece of that.

The truth is Oscar helped build Canelo into the star he is today. But he's reached mega star status & at this point in his career doesn't need a promoter. Oscar needs Canelo now. GB can still thrive without Canelo. They'll find a new Mexican star eventually, but losing Canelo would certainly hurt their pockets especially if Canelo chooses to get real disrespectful after they split.

Munguia doesn’t seem like a worthwhile investment in terms of having a high ceiling. They’re probably saving him as a piece to cash out when there are no other viable options.
