Then surely making a unification fight with Beterbiev should be in the plans? Wouldn't that be historic - to be unified champ in two weight classes and a champ in a third weight class? I'm sure Canelo will jump on an opportunity to fight Beterbiev, it's all about legacy, right? Plus Beterbiev is closing in on 35, which is exactly the age you need to be if you are really good and looking to fight Canelo.

Beterbiev and Bivol would argue about that, but Kovalev is still one of the top light heavyweights. As for super middleweight, Canelo didn't win a real title. Fielding was not the champion. If he fought Callum Smith and won, yes that would be a proper title.

But no one would have a problem if Canelo said Kovalev is the most accomplished, the most tested, the most well known LHW, and the fighter that would generate the most interest by fans to watch/sub to DAZN. Yes, Beterbiev and maybe Gvozdyk, would be greater challenges to Canelo, but that doesn’t make Kovalev an easy fight just because there are better fighters Canelo can fight at 175. I think Kovalev is the 3rd best there but I understand Gvozdyk’s loss brings him up to #2 by default but I think Gvozdyk is still better.
how about them yankees? the skankees drought continues.

I know Gvozdyk just lost to Beterbiev and is therefore relegated to the 'bum, never was any good' pile, but I'd bet on Gvozdyk to beat Kovalev.

See, this is the bulls*** than he pulls because he knows that his fans are ****** enough to believe it. He said beefy Smith was the most dangerous champion when he faced him which was nonsense since both Charlos and lara were champions at 154 at the time. Then he picked the weakest champion in rocky fielding at 168. Right now, Kovalev is not better than bivol or beterbiev but canelo continues to try and play his fan base for fools.

Canelo WILL make easy work out of Bivol, mark my words. Beterbiev Is the hardest fight at LHW.

Clenelo Alvaroid cherry picked Kovalev because he's old and now will drain him for the win. Ginger cheat is a scumbag

No, no, no ................. More Canelo BS!

Team Canelo picked Kovalev because he's at the twilight of his career and he's vulnerable. If Ward was still active and Champ, Canelo wouldn't go within 1K yards of Ward.

Fight Beterbiev ...... Beterbiev is available and would jump at the chance to make a couple million off Canelo in his next fight.
