Comments Thread For: Former Coach: Kovalev Never Wanted To Learn Inside-Fighting

Derik Santos Rosario is very familiar with WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev. Rosario was the assistant coach of Kovalev's former head trainer John David Jackson. Jackson and Rosario trained Kovalev for years. Following Kovalev's back to back defeats to Andre Ward, there was bad falling out with Jackson. Kovalev is now being trained by former world champion Buddy McGirt.

Yes, this is called "boxing opponent engineering" taking precise dominate angles vs very selective opponents. Canelo & Floyd are considered the best architects for this selecting process.

the game... the fight game is about angles. inside, outside.. speed, power, pivoting and all kinds of other things i won't list here.. kov limited himself to using distance, and power. plus a good chin.. ok..

If a slower golovkin was able to keep slownelo at bay then kovalev should be able to as well. Stronger and more reach will help kovalev. Either way kovalev has to ko canelo to get a win

With a worse gas tank than GGG and reacts worse to body shots than GGG too. As soon as Canelo gets around Kovalev's jab it's open season.

Lmao how exactly is canelo gonna do that? Kovalev is old and took a beating a month ago but even then i doubt it
Canelo cant get past the jab just look at his fights with lara and golovkin. Hell even throw in khan until his inevitable ko

If Kovalev has it in him to fight Canelo like he did Hopkins, then it could be a long night for the Mexican. But that's a big if..

Golovkin wasn’t able to do shet! Canelo was the Ring general for 24 rounds and all ggg was able to do was jab here and there with zero adjustments
