    Earlier boxing career

Floyd fault better opponents in his earlier career then Stevenson. Floyd was a better fighter when he was Pretty Boy then he was Money May.

Firstly, dumb and pointless comparison. Secondly, look at Floyd's 9th opponent's stats

thats for me tells its own story. maybe floyd knew he was fighting bums
I'll say this. No way does Stevenson get past prime Jesus Chavez.

You can flip stats however way you want.

Who cares that its fights 9-13. Shakur is 22. At 22 Mayweather had 19 fights and just beat Manfredy and Genaro.

Shakur is still relatively unproven. It is not that hard to win a vacant belt these days like he did. What matters most is what he does from here, is he going to keep moving along and racking up wins over good opposition or is he going to defend his belt against bums. How does he react with better opposition, how good is his chin, if he has an injury mid fight, can he adjust, ect. All of that unknown.

But atleast he is only 22, see so many guys now reaching almost 30 having not fought jack chit.

Also for the most part PB Floyd fought guys his size some even naturally bigger as he started off at 130lbs. Stevenson is fighting guy's naturally smaller than him, he's a 130 pounder that's fighting at 126.

IMO Stevenson hasn't even really proved he's the real deal yet and won't until he moves up and fights guys his own size like Loma had to and then still to even come close to Mayweather's level of greatness of 5 weight classes no losses, he'd have to go all the way up to at least 147 at some point winning titles at each weight along the way which, let's be real doesn't seem feasible for Stevenson.

Yeah floyd fought bigger guys his entire career. Even guys that looked like they might be smaller, outweighed him on fight night:

              Zab
              Hatton
              Pacquaio

all outweighed Mayweather. The only fighter I know weighed less for sure was JMM. People make a big deal about him being smaller, ok, that is 1 fight out of 50 with a smaller guy. You need to find me another 25 fights of him with a smaller component before you can complain he selects smaller guys.

Im sure at 130 there were probably some guys that were smaller but he wasnt a large 130, when he moved up to 135 it was for new challenges, not because he had any problems making weight.

Naz was smart to avoid the talks of a catchweight 128lb fight. With an unconventional hand low defense that relied on reflexes, Mayweather would have beat him like a rag dall with his 72" reach, fast hands and accuracy.

Exactly plus Maquez was Floyd's 1st fight in like 18 months and Marquez had just went tit for tat, life and death against Pacquiao whom they said Floyd was scared of...Floyd at least tried to meet him at a catchweight as well lol

But 1 thing about Floyd is when he was at 130lbs he was really a 130 pounder. A very slight framed kid. He was just so talented that the only competition he had was against guys that were naturally heavier.

This whole comparison thing with Floyd and Stevenson is nonsense. Even mentioning those 2 in the same breath is basically setting Stevenson up to fail. There is no next Floyd. We saw what happened with Broner's career after they tried to give him that title. That's like saying some kid is the next Ali. These guys are once in a lifetime.

I don't see Stevenson even coming close to being as good as Floyd.

Fighters like Floyd come once in a generation.
