Back on topic, Wilder was calling Fury the lineal champion before their fight. Wilder's own promoters referred to Fury as the lineal champion, and rest assured, if Wilder had beaten Fury that night, he would be calling himself the lineal champion right now.

You missed a great fight. Wilder abandoned his game plan and Fury was doing his thing, but then got dropped in the 9th, a flash knockdown. Fury's best round was the 10th, he held his own in the 11th, but then, then in the 12th....

He was absolutely flattened by a double punch combination, a combination Wilder had been forcing all night but finally settled down on, a solid right hook followed by a left hook AS FURY WAS FALLING TO THE CANVAS, a knockout for the history books. And Fury was still as a board and out for 4 seconds, and the fight was over! 9 out of 10, the fight would have over...

But Fury was lucky and was allowed to continue. He still had his knee on the canvas after10 seconds but he wasn't counted out. And he took a couple more DANGEROUS shots before coming back with a couple good shots of his own. But he himself says he almost died that night...

First of all... I love this thread. Outside of a Canelo/Trip G comment section, this is the next most fun. The Wilder/Fury rematch is going to be SO RICH in ******ity and bias on this site. I so hope it really happens.

Second of all.... Does anyone really care about the lineal crap? Back in the 70's and 80's when all the greats actually fought all the other greats then I could see the prestige. But in this day of separate promotional companies, networks, and isolated alphabet belt holders it is a waste of space to type it anymore. Fury promoting himself as champ is fine because he never lost the belts he won from Klitschko in the ring. So there is his loophole. But Lineal champ? Please let that stuff die.

Side note: Raise your hand if you would be surprised if Fury becomes a full time wrestler, pushing traditional Gypsie outfits and being the WWE's top heel. Anyone have their hand up? Anyone?
